Britney Spears’ “Candies” Collection are Haute!!!!

Pop Legend Britney Spears once again proved to the world that she can do everything! With Millions of albums sold, successful world tour, chart topping songs, lucrative endorsements and yes —as history would tell us –the  greatest comeback to date — Britney is set to conquer the fashion industry by storm with Candies releasing her very “own” collection straight from Britney’s idea of edgy yet girly fashion that is expected to sell like pancakes!!!!

“My personal style is mix of comfortable and flirty. I love cute little dresses but I also love comfy sweaters and jeans.”

Spears signed a contract last year to endorse the fashion line of the junior clothing line Candies which seemed to be a very successful partnership as Candies exposure are reaching greater heights with Britney  as their chosen model! The collections will be sold exclusively at Kohl’s and the fans are  raving about Britney’s designs which are getting a lot of positive responses based on some previews. The collection will be available on July 1st so be sure to hurry up and get your piece of Britney!

About the collection, Britney says: I used a lot of studs and lace, because I wanted to make the clothes cool and edgy yet girly. I also love jeans, so I had to make sure there were some great pairs in the collection. And I love jewelry so there are a lot of fun pieces. There are great necklaces and big earrings.

To add one more great news, Britney was ranked by Forbes this year as the 6th Most Powerful Celebrity.

Them Cycle 14 Girls: America’s Next Top Model’s Netwalk

I thought Tyra will be putting 14 girls for her hit show’s 14th cycle but she decided to pick 13 girls to compete for the Top Model’s title and finish their catwalk / netwalk in New Zealand which is the international destination for this cycle.Netwalk will be this cycle’s theme –it is the Tyra’s version of Myspace / Facebook.

The BESTest!

Actress Rachel McAdams is definitely tonight’s big winner on the red carpet wearing Elie Saab creation.

Check this out! JLo never ceased to rock it on the red carpet! she’s wearing an Armani Prive gown.

this is what you call elegance, the 16th time Oscar nominated Meryl Streep wowed everyone with this regal creation of Project Runway alums Chris March.

Kristen Stewart is a first time Oscar attendee rocking a Monique Lhuillier gothic creation!

Kate Winslet can do no wrong with Yves Saint Laurent‘s creation.

FAILED!!!

I cannot for the life of me understand what the rose accent Charlize Theron was wearing on her lumps with her Christian Dior gown.

I love Vera Farmiga in Up In The Air but this Marchesa‘s creation is so over the top and way too busy that you cannot find the best supporting actress nominee.

This Givenchy creation is not just right for Zoe Saldana –there’s something off with it.

First time Best Actress nominee Carey Mulligan didn’t take Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour‘s advise and this was the dreadful results.  I’m lovin’ the Prada dress but what’s with the shoes???

I seriously don’t get the whole look of Amanda Seyfried tonight –it’s all too old fashion. It’s probably because JLo already got the better Armani Prive dress.

Binibining Pilipinas 2010 Winners: Will They Make It?

Three ladies were chosen once again at the Big Dome to represent the Philippines in the three most prestigious beauty pageants in the world –  the Miss Universe, Miss World and the Miss International. In this year’s pageant, 24 lovely Filipinas battled it out to grab one of the three crowns.

Maria Venus Raj

Maria Venus Raj from Bato, Camarines Sur was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Universe. With a towering 5’9″ physique, elegant walk and incredible tan – Raj was actually favored to win from the get-go grabbing Miss Friendship, Best In Terno and Best In Long Gown during the finals. I have this feeling that she’d have a very good chance of at least making it to the semi-finals come Miss Universe 2010 because of her semblance to some Latinas who are ruling the Donald Trump-owned pageant.

Krista Kleiner

The Binibining Pilipinas-International went to GMA Network contract star – Krista Arrieta Kleiner (winner of Miss USA-Philippines) and girlfriend of Philippine RNB prince Jay-R. In my opinion, Krista along with Helen Nicolette Henson (2nd Runner Up) gave the best answers during the Q&A portion of the pageant. She was asked what would she tell President Obama if she were to have five minutes with him. The eloquence in her answer proved her smart thinking and that she actually deserved the title. She will be representing the Philippines in Shanghai, China October of this year.

Czarina Gatbonton

Manila Bulletin Reader’s Choice Awardee and Bulacan-native Catherine Czarina Gatbonton snagged the Binibining Pilipinas World title. She’s the only contestant who answered in the vernacular and when asked if she were to live again, what would she want to be? She answered “Puno” as in the girl wanted to be a Tree. Everyone inside the coliseum were mostly puzzled by her winning over crowd favorite Helen Nicolette Henson who received three awards and end up placing fifth overall. Gatbonton will be representing the country come November 2010 – possibly in Vietnam. As of this point, the Philippines has yet to win the Miss World crown.

Diane Necio

Diane Elaine Samar Necio of Albay was the night’s first runner up. She is also the reigning Miss Bicolandia- 1st Runner Up.

Nicolette Henson

Helen Nicolette Henson of Pampanga , 2nd Runner up.

I am not quite sure if we stand a chance in the international competitions. I’ve mention that I think Venus has a slight chance of making it to the semi-finals. If I were one of the judges, I would’ve picked Krista to represent us to the Miss Universe or Miss World (she could actually make it to the semi-finals by merely getting the Best In Talent –  an award she got at the Binibini.) For Miss World, we’d probably end up empty-handed once again for the nth time. Czarina just doesn’t click for me as Miss World material. I was hoping that Nicolette Henson will be chosen for Miss International but unfortunately the judges were not into her.

Let’s all hope for the best though . Out of all the three winners– I’d say Krista has the best chance of making it.

Diva Montelaba: The Next Big Thing

With a runner-up finish on the 5th Season of Starstruck a Philippine-Talent search, Diva Montelaba of Cebu have shown everyone that being different is actually an advantage. On what seemed to be a  surprising results of the talent search where half-Filipino, half-Morrocan Sarah Lahbati snatched the title over the talented lass from Cebu — Diva who garnered the most number of public votes among all the female survivors in the competition was denied the Ultimate Survivor title due to low grades from the council who seemed to favor the fair skinned Lahbati who only got a single minor award for a music video test–whereas Montelaba received 2 major awards including Best in Acting and Dancing . Still, the Search’ s first princess is confident that she’ll have a great career ahead of her now that she’s part of the GMA Artists Center.

This 19 year old aspiring actress is expected to rise to stardom quickly–thanks to  her undeniable talent, beauty and charisma . And with her very tall physique, this Cebuana could someday be a beauty queen representing the real “Filipina” beauty.

Fashion, Colors and Men – three words that would describe Odelon Simpao’s design with an understatement “I bring couture to men.” This native from Cagayan De Oro first came to the scene last 2007 with his focus on men’s apparel. Gifted with the understanding of how men now truly feel about themselves in fashion,  Simpao masterfully crafted some of the most  “chic’’ menswear to come out of the 2009 Philippine Fashion Week. Here we see a fashion evolution that would show that Filipino men are as modern as its western counterparts when it comes to glamorizing the so-called Men’s Fashion.
