ICYMI: Jennifer Lopez wearing a 20-foot Michael Cinco Cape on ‘The Tonight Show’!

Jlo's Back With Lin-Manuel Miranda

Here’s JLo hitting the diva meter while performing a new song called “Love Make the World Go Round” with Hamilton-star Lin-Manuel Miranda on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”  Adding flare to her emotional performance was the couture crystallized Sainte Chapelle inspired hand painted cape she’s wearing by fame Filipino designer, Michael Cinco. The 20-foot stained glass cape features 10,000 colorful Swarovski crystals with hand-made silk embroideries, which according to the designer took six months to complete by about 100 people!

Now, that is how you make a statement! Bravo JLo and Mr. Miranda!

‘Hands’ Lyrics
[Verse 1: Britney Spears + Gwen Stefani]
Can hold a gun
And hold your heart
Can put out fires
And make ’em start
Skin and bones
And flesh and blood
With all this nerve
How did we get this numb

[Pre-Chorus: Meghan Trainor + Troye Sivan]
Cus they can hurt
Or they can heal
They can give back
Or they can steal
They can break the world
Or they can change it too
[Chorus: All Together]
Ooh hands
Hands
Woooo hands
Oh hands
Cause they can love
Or they can take
They can fight up
Until they save
They can break the world
They can change it too
Ooh hands

[Verse 2: Selena Gomez + Kacey Musgraves]
Doesn’t matter
Who you love
All that matters
Is your love
I’ve been watching news
And seeing all this hate
Tell me is it wrong
To want a little change

[Pre-Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
They can hurt
Or they can heal
They can give back
Or they can steal
They can break the world
Or they can change it too

[Chorus: All Together led by Jason Derulo]
Ooh hands
Hands
Woooo hands
Oh hands
Cause they can love
Or they can take
They can fight up
Until they save
They can break the world
They can change it too
Ooh hands

[Post-Chorus: Led by Imagine Dragons]
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
Ooooh

[Bridge: Jennifer Lopez]
Can hold a gun
And hold your heart
Can put out fires
And make ’em start
I’ve been watching news
And seeing all this hate
Tell me is it wrong
To want a little change

[Chorus: Adam Lambert & Tyler Glenn + P!NK & MNEK]
Ooh hands
Hands
Woooo hands
Oh hands
Cause they can love
Or they can take
They can fight up
Until they save
They can break the world
They can change it too
Ooh hands

[Post-Chorus: Led by Imagine Dragons]
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
Ooooh

[Outro: RuPaul + (Mary Lambert) + Nate Ruess + Together]
Just take my hand baby
Everybody’s in love
(All that matters is your love)
(Change it or break it)
(They can love or they can take it, take it all)
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
Ooooh

Review: Ice Age 4 Continental Drift (2012)

via wikipedia

via wikipedia

Ten years after the release of the original Ice Age, the film’s fourth installment was still able to deliver a hard core family flick that will capture the heart of its young viewers. Ice Age 4: Continental Drift sees the gang charming their way to the audience with their adventures and misadventures to the high seas. Our three heroes, Manny the mammoth (Ray Romano), Diego the sabre-toothed tiger (Denis Leary) and  Sid the sloth ( John Leguizamo) were separated from their families and got stuck in an ice raft with Sid’s grandmother (Wanda Sykes.)

As the gang drifts further away from their home, they met a gang of pirates led by Captain Gutt, an orangutan who’s out to bring chaos and revenge along with his crew. Determined to be with his wife and daughter again, Manny led the action-packed showdown between our charming heroes and the pirates.
This fourth installment of the film was co-directed by Steve Martino and Mike Thurmeier who directed the third one. With its very cliché plot line, the teamwork of Martino and Thurmeier was able to transformed it into something that both adult and children would thoroughly enjoy. I’m not a really big fan of 3-D but I just really dig it this time. It’s fun and engaging and the humour’s just have the right balance. Ice Age 4 soars higher  as they deliver a family film that will not only entertain its audience but will teach us some real lessons in life. It’s definitely a must-see!

Review: What To Expect When You’re Expecting (2012)

via wikipedia

via wikipedia

This film is an adaptation of the bestselling pregnancy book by Heidi Murkoff, which stars Elizabeth Banks, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison and Dennis Quaid amongst others. The film follows each character experiencing life changing moments while expecting the miracle that is the birth of a child.

Going in to see the film, I was initially turned off by the film’s star-studded ensemble because it reminds me so much of Garry Marshall’s Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve – I didn’t even know the story to begin with but the fact that there’s a swarm of characters in the film, I’m almost expecting that it’s going to be another one of those all-stars train wreck films.

I’ve to be honest. I already expected this to be a lousy film but I was wrong. I’ll be the first one to admit that I did enjoy it! There’s no fresh take on its story line. There’s the same old story that you hear every now and then about getting pregnant, adopting, the pregnancy scare and all but each minute details of the characters involved are somehow very affecting. You’d actually fall in love with them! It has the usual corny punch lines thrown here and there, the black token guy, the dumb blonde and the usual characters but somehow it all worked together.

Anna Kendrick and Elizabeth Banks are just flawless in this film. They are the characters that you would remember from the film after the credits rolled in (unless you’re glued to Rodrigo Santoro and Joe Manganiello all throughout.)  They’re relatable and very charming. Forget that Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz are also in here because they are in the film for their star value. It also doesn’t hurt that the film has a great soundtrack.

The film obviously is very heartwarming, though, cliché – it has the power to evoke that feminine side from you even when you’re not “expecting” and regardless of your gender. I have not read the book from where it’s based and I don’t have any plan to but I think the mere merit of the film’s considerable approach to pregnancy, family and just life in general is reason enough to go to the cinema and watch it.

Review: The Back-up Plan (2010)

Jennifer Lopez as Zoe is desperately wanting to have a child so she decided to have herself inseminated through a sperm bank. Unaware of her pregnancy, she met the “Cheese” guy Stan (Alex O’Loughlin) and they started dating. Until she found out she’s pregnant, complications arose with Zoe apparently carrying twins!

The vibe of the film is the usual JLo Rom-Com flick ala Maid in Manhattan, The Wedding Planner and Monster In Law. The plotline is pretty unusual since the stage of dating to marriage to pregnancy was reversed. There are spot-on moments were Jennifer was really funny and her chemistry with Alex is truly undeniable. It’s a feel good movie but is a bit forgettable.

Director: Alan Poul

Starring: Jennifer Lopez, Alex O’Loughlin, Danneel Harris, Melissa McCarthy, Michaela Watkins, Eric Christian Olsen, Anthony Anderson, Noureen DeWulf, Tom Bosley, Maribeth Monroe, Linda Lavin, Jennifer Elise Cox, Cesar Millan

My 2012 Oscars Best Dressed!

Another night of glamour came upon us as the stars of the good ‘ol Hollywood took the red carpet by storm in this year’s Academy Awards! Here are my Top 10 Choices for this year’s Oscars….

10th Place goes to my favorite Emma Stone in a fuchsia Giambattista Valli gown and Louis Vuitton jewels! The Help star never fails to impress me and this time, it ain’t the ultimate dress but she made the top 10! Congrats bb…

9th. Possible Best Actress winner and Emma Stone’s co-star  Viola Davis is wearing an emerald green Vera Wang creation and she’s not wearing any weave! Girl.is.rocking.it! Bravo to you Viola!

8th. Jennifer Lopez can do no wrong with this champagne strap Zuhair Murad dress with a peek-a-boo sleeves! Welcome back to the list ‘ma!

7th. The girl with the dragon tattoo Rooney Mara is still as shy as her character and it’s working on the red carpet! I love her in this white sculptured Givenchy Haute Couture floor length gown.

6th. Let’s face it, Angelina’s the closest thing to perfection! In this Versace dress, LaJolie’s A+ power and stature is undeniable!

5th. This is the 2nd year of Jessica on my list and she’s doing really great! She’s nominated tonight for The Help she’s wearing this amazing hand-embroidered Alexander McQueen gown. She looks exsquisite this lady!

4th. George Clooney’s lady love stole the show by showing up in a gold Marchesa gown. Girl look so godly she’s untouchable!

3rd. I’m not really a fan of Michelle William’s pixie hair cut so I tend to ignore her from the past awards season but tonight is different! She’s glowing and channeling Marilyn Monroe’s sheer elegance and beauty in this Louis Vuitton red peplum gown!

2nd.  Milla Jovovich is wearing a one-shoulder Elie  Saab couture with matching retro hair and red lips! This is how a kick-ass red carpet should look like!

ULTIMATE BEST DRESSED

Gwyneth Paltrow

The Oscar winning Actress is wearing this white  dress number from Tom Ford’s Fall 2012 Collection and she looked ethereally beautiful!  I’m totally speechless!

2011 Grammy Awards Best Dressed!

Lea Michele  never fails to impressed us on the red carpet that is why we’re declaring her the ultimate Best Dressed of the night in this black Emilio Pucci dress!

***

Jennifer Hudson is wearing a Versace gown with Neil Lane gems and Louboutin sandals. The sandals are cute but they’re just not for this red carpet. Overall, she look absolutely rockin’

We’re just waiting for the right time to honor Kelly Osbourne for being so effin’ glamorous in the past year! In this Tadashi Shoji
one-shoulder dresswith glittery shoes, we’re just so freakin’ loving her!

We know nothing about Florence Welch until tonight when she arrived wearing this Givenchy swan print couture gown in such a way that we’re forced to research about her and apparently, she’s competing against Bieber for the Best New Artist Category. Don’t worry Florence, we love you tonight so we’re rooting for your win!!!

Eva Longoria wore a a ruffled cocktail dress by Ashi Studio with matching black pumps. We just wan’t to leave a simple note for someone whom we think is weeping at this very moment.

TONY, IT’S YOUR LOSS!!!!!!!

We always love Jennifer Lopez in the red carpet and tonight is no different. This all glittery Emilio Pucci dress is just fantastical!

Selena Gomez once again made us proud! Wearing a golden J Mendel slipdress, Lorainne Schwartz jewelry, Brian Atwood shoes, and Judith Leiber clutch – our last month’s Muse was a sight to behold!

Nicole Kidman wore this Jean Paul Gaultier floral strapless gown and for the longest time now, we’re happy that she’s working the red carpet!

The Oscar’s Fashion 2010 Edition

The BESTest!

Actress Rachel McAdams is definitely tonight’s big winner on the red carpet wearing Elie Saab creation.

Check this out! JLo never ceased to rock it on the red carpet! she’s wearing an Armani Prive gown.

this is what you call elegance, the 16th time Oscar nominated Meryl Streep wowed everyone with this regal creation of Project Runway alums Chris March.

Kristen Stewart is a first time Oscar attendee rocking a Monique Lhuillier gothic creation!

Kate Winslet can do no wrong with Yves Saint Laurent‘s creation.

***

FAILED!!!

I cannot for the life of me understand what the rose accent Charlize Theron was wearing on her lumps with her Christian Dior gown.

I love Vera Farmiga in Up In The Air but this Marchesa‘s creation is so over the top and way too busy that you cannot find the best supporting actress nominee.

This Givenchy creation is not just right for Zoe Saldana –there’s something off with it.

First time Best Actress nominee Carey Mulligan didn’t take Vogue’s editor Anna Wintour‘s advise and this was the dreadful results.  I’m lovin’ the Prada dress but what’s with the shoes???

I seriously don’t get the whole look of Amanda Seyfried tonight –it’s all too old fashion. It’s probably because JLo already got the better Armani Prive dress.

***

SPECIAL CITATION:

actresses who didn’t make it to our “bestest” list but nevertheless gave some glittering lights to the star-studded events

Best Supporting Actress nominee Maggie Gyllenhaal wearing a Dries van Noten creation.

Inglorious Basterds’ Diane Kruger wearing a Chanel dress.

A platinum blonde Cameron Diaz wearing an Oscar de la Renta‘s haute couture creation.

Best Supporting Actress nominees Penelope Cruz wearing a Donna Karan couture.

Another Best Supporting Actress nominee Anna Kendrick wearing an Elie Saab creation.

We just gotta love Tinay Fey in this Michael Kors creation.
