We know nothing about Florence Welch until tonight when she arrived wearing this Givenchy swan print couture gown in such a way that we’re forced to research about her and apparently, she’s competing against Bieber for the Best New Artist Category. Don’t worry Florence, we love you tonight so we’re rooting for your win!!!

Eva Longoria wore a a ruffled cocktail dress by Ashi Studio with matching black pumps. We just wan’t to leave a simple note for someone whom we think is weeping at this very moment.

Selena Gomez once again made us proud! Wearing a golden J Mendel slipdress, Lorainne Schwartz jewelry, Brian Atwood shoes, and Judith Leiber clutch – our last month’s Muse was a sight to behold!

Nicole Kidman wore this Jean Paul Gaultier floral strapless gown and for the longest time now, we’re happy that she’s working the red carpet!

Binibining Pilipinas 2011 Official Candidates

For the first time in the pageant history, 40 beautiful ladies were chosen to vie for the three crowns of the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 which will be held at the Araneta Coliseum this coming April. The three winners will represent the country to the Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Globe-International. CLICK HERE FOR THE WINNERS AND SPECIAL AWARDS

A few of the notable contestants includes Grendel Alvarado- winner of the first Philippines’ Next Top Model (Disqualified), Dianne Necio – last year’s first runner-up at the Binibining Pilipinas, Patricia Tumulak – winner of Miss Philippines Fire at the Miss Earth 2009, Luzelle Felipe who claimed to be a part-time tricycle driver and Roxanne Cabanero (Disqualified) who’s a dead ringer of last year’s Bb. Pilipinas-Universe and Miss Universe 4th Runner Up, Maria Venus Raj.

as of press time (03.24.11), four girls were already disqualified from the competition and 4 other girls from the screening were asked to comeback to complete the magic 40!
Disqualified from the competition are Grendel Alvarado, Jen Olivar -both are alums of Philippines Next Top Model, Roxanne Cabanero and most recently, Bianca Paz.

She definitely toned it down from the last time but we still don’t get it. This Marc Jacobs gown doesn’t really appeal to us. Kudos for the matching shoes tho.

Danica Magpantay Wins Ford Supermodel Of The World!

After the runner-up feat set by Charlene Almarvez in 2010, this year’s Philippine rep Danica Flores Magpantay was able to snag the Ford Supermodel Of The World Title (a first for the Philippines) held in New York City. Models from Lithuania and Poland are the runners-up with Brazil and Estonia completing the 5 Finalist.

If we recall,  Danica’s Mom, Lala Flores was a previous representative of the country who won the Crest Best Smile Award in the international competition at that time.

Danica will now be under Ford Models with a $250,000 modeling contract.

Grendel Alvarado, Philippines’ Next Top Model Joins Binibining Pilipinas 2011!

Grendel Alvarado, the first and only (so far) winner of the Philippines’  Top Model franchise has join the biggest beauty pageant in the the country, the Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) in search for this year’s delegates to  International competitions such as the Miss Universe and the Miss International.

Apparently, this lass from Bacolod is still young enough to meet the pageant’s age requirement which is 25  . During the Top Model search in 2007, Grendel was already 22 years old which make her 25 around this time. Sure, there’ll be no problem on her catwalk and fierce look but the girl is too editorial in our opinion to make it in the Miss Universe if ever she’ll make it pass the Binibining Pilipinas screening.

(apparently, the organizer accepted her application despite being 26 as we speak thus her only chance to compete is at the Miss Universe Pageant which age limit is 27)

Miss World-Philippines 2011

Just late last year, it was announced that the Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) lost the Miss World franchise to TV and Radio personality Cory Quirino who will now be heading the search for the Miss World-Philippines to represent the country in London for the Miss World 2011 that will be held sometime in November.

This was a very exciting news as Philippine pageant aficionados would buzz like crazy about this new national pageant that is said to be held sometime in September, a short three months before the international pageant. Also, we’ll get to see how this pageant would be different from it’s ex-franchise holder.

We also gathered reports that Miss World Chairman Julia Morley and reigning Miss World Alexandria Mills of the United States will be visiting the country next week for the contract signing of the franchise agreement and some charity visits. This would be part of Miss Mills’ first international visit to the Asia Pacific countries including Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. So watch out for Miss Morley and the Miss World 2010 visit our beautiful country!
