Tyra posted a sneak peak of the Top 30 Finalists Of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 19 – The College Edition! There are a lot of tall girls this season and a few plus-size hopefuls. And by the end of last week through the first “photoshoot” the top 13 finalists were revealed to be voted upon by the public each week from May 24 to June 27. Do you think a plus-size could win this competition again now that its viewers could vote for who they like? What about another black diva winning this cycle? Or perhaps a nerdy all-American girl clinching the college edition cycle? What do you think?
Here are the top 13 Finalists! Who do you like most based on these pictures?
I edited the photos and reduced them from 30 to 13 based on the Top 13 finalists. For the top 30 Finalists, please click the first word of this post. Thanks!
Even if I am not posting anything about the current cycle of America’s Next Top Model, I’m still following the show religiously – it’s one of my guilty pleasures! Lol. Anyhow, it is their 18th Cycle and is the British Invasion where seven former contestants of the British version of the show are to battle it out with unknown / aspiring American models.
Two weeks from now, the Cycle’s winner will be announced and it is down between the American model Laura LaFrate and Brit’s Sophie Sumner. Based on the photos they took all through the cycle, who do you think should win the spread in Vogue Italia, the $100,000 Cover Girl contract and a modeling representation?
Okay, people, so let’s be honest here: we all love watching the show, and we’re all rooting for our favorites to win, but for a moment, let us set aside our “fantasy” and dissect the remaining five models who are still in the running towards becoming America’s Next Top Model. Let us analyze: who really is the best model amongst the bunch? Who deserved the $100,000 contract from Covergirl? That contract from one of the top modeling agencies in the world, IMG? And above all, who really deserved that fashion spread in Vogue Italia and its beauty supplement edition, Beauty in Vogue?
Let us start with the “model” that we perceived to be the weakest: Kasia. She’s a plus-size model, and she is 26. With that being said, she’s a bit old for the industry, which’s almost always favored the young ones. It is interesting to note, though, that she was already featured in the fashion magazine V and had worked quite successfully before the show.
It was also rumored prior to the cycle’s premiere that Kasia was planted by the producers or Tyra herself to perhaps win or reach the final 2-3, regardless of her performance on the show and her being friends with Banks herself. Her pictures aren’t that spectacular, as judges and fans alike noted, and the only time that she got the first callout was the coffee commercial shoot. Rachel Zoe even called her “inexpensive,” with Tyra reiterating it as looking “cheap.”
We are not discriminating against Kasia for being plus-size or fiercely real, as Tyra put it, but let’s ask ourselves: Is she the best plus-size to ever be on the show? We have Whitney, the first plus-size winner from Cycle 10, Alexandra from Cycle 14, who reached the Final 4, and Tocarra from Cycle 3, who recently got featured in the Special “Black” Edition of Vogue Italia in 2008. With this, we are almost sure that she is probably not going to win. The industry now, even with more leniency toward plus-size models, still prefers to have Gisele, Karolina, and Naomi as top models, unfortunately.
Our fourth placer is the girl from freaking “Houston, Texas,”Hannah. She’s definitely the prettiest left, but her being pretty isn’t pulling enough high fashion to actually win this thing. We also do not think that her resemblance to Analeigh from Cycle 11 will hinder her “chances. Her walk doesn’t cut it on the runway, and she’s also a hit and miss during photo shoots. This commercial beauty will not be wasted, though; her beautiful physique and face could actually land any beauty campaigns, but other than that, we just don’t see her walking for any major fashion weeks after the show.
Our third placer is the one we initially thought would win this thing hands down: Molly.
Molly’s a very photogenic model. She’s a chameleon and can take directions well. With those attributes, you’d think that she’s actually the best in the competition, but America’s Next Top Model is not only your ordinary modeling competition; this is first and foremost a reality TV show. Let’s face it, based on the editing, she’s getting along with everyone of the girls except for Alexandria. During their go-see challenge, she only booked two out of four clients, mainly because she failed to deliver a personable character and lost a Lana Marks campaign because of her negative demeanor. That’s the problem with Molly; she’s a complaining champion, borrowing this term from last cycle’s runner-up, Chelsey.
Her bitching and rough confessions are not personable on TV, and although a lot of people are still rooting for her, she’s losing fans as the show progresses. Unless she gets a redemption arc, it is highly unlikely for her to actually win those highly coveted prizes. Goodluck Molly!
Our runner-up analysis goes to the strong, alpha, and the lioness Alexandria. This girl has a very interesting personality to begin with. At the start of the show, she was the edited “bitch” of this cycle. Everyone hated her for being bossy, intimidating, and all that, and even guests are noticing her not very attractive attitude on set. However, as the cycle progressed, her editing drastically changed, and she suddenly became the girl to beat in the competition and the girl who was also the most professional—industry-wise.
While Alex has so much personality and is such a “fun bitch,” we honestly don’t think that she’d win that Beauty in Vogue cover. She has shown consistency with her photographs, and her knowledge of the industry is very commendable, but her editing really reminds us of Melrose from Cycle 7, who ends up as the runner-up. History may just repeat itself.
The girl we think will be America’s Next Top Model is Brittani. She is the model of today. She’s very current, very high-fashion, and walks like a supermodel. We didn’t like that she had to pull a Celia moment during episode 7, but we cannot take away the fact that this girl has everything to win this cycle! We are not particularly fond of her for bitchfest along with Molly over Alexandria, but her portfolio is so strong that one can almost blame the edit, or even the pressure of the competition, or maybe not? The girl could still make it up with the judges, as we are seeing Franca liking her in episode 10.
So whom do you think and whom would you like to win America’s Next Top Model?
We hate to spoil it for you guys who are expecting a fierce battle between Ann and Chelsey (there would be) but we couldn’t just help ourselves after COVERGIRL purposively/mistakenly released the CoverGirl photos of the two remaining contestants with a major-major spoiler in it! Here is it… The covergirl shot of the final 2 and your winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 15!
Ann Ward, Cycle 15 Winner
Congratualtions Ann! We can’t wait to see your Beauty In Vogue Cover and your Italian Vogue FIERCE spread!

Chelsey Hersley, Runner-Up
You did your thing girl and you should be proud of your self! You’re the catwalk diva of this cycle!

And then there were two! Ann Ward and Chelsey Hersley are to battle it out on the final runway of Cycle 15, wearing Roberto Cavalli’s creations. Ann Ward sailed through the finale with a historic six first callouts in total, while Chelsey, who’s been consistent all through the cycle but never had a single FCO, impresses the judges with her determination and obvious knowledge of the industry. With the two girls battling it out for the title of America’s Next Top Model, who really deserves to win it? Whose portfolio is better, and whose performance will prevail in the end?
For the third to the last episode of America’s Next Top Model, the final four girls will be shot by none other than Miss Tyra Banks who will be directing her first motion editorial entitled Disturbato. This episode will also determine the two girls who will be battling it out for the final runway as there will be a double elimination with Vogue Italia Editor-In-Chief Franca Sozzani as the guest judge.

So who will be making it to the finale? Will it be the awkward girl Ann? The self-proclaimed lesbian Kayla? The Princeton girl Jane or the fashion smarty Chelsey?
Next week will be showing the final five girls going into their go-sees which will determine their ability to book jobs! Who do you think will win this challenge? Will Kayla start to dominate the competition after getting the First Call Out from the last photoshoot? Will Ann’s confidence continously sink and shrink? Will Chelsey finally rise from the pack? Is Jane confident enough to battled it out and be on top? Is Chris still capable for lasting another week?
At the photoshoot, the final five will be photograped by resident judge Nigel Barker as statue. Who will get that first call out that could seal a final 4 appearance and probably a final runway appearance?
This Week’s episode is the overseas week! The final six girls will fly to Venice to meet with designer and model Margherita Missoni from the house of Missoni who will also judge the girls as they strut wearing the house’s world-famous knitwear.
At the photoshoot, the girls will outshine each other as they pose in the Gondola in pair of three!
Will Ann bounce back from her bottom two appearance last week? Will Kayla or Chelsey finally get the elusive FCO? Will Jane’s personality shine through? Will Liz be more serious this time? Can Chris survive it in Venice?
The seven girls remaining will be doing their very first commercial next week wearing roller skates on the beach that will test their ability to act out on TV. Also, designer Zac Posen will guest judge and will have the girls wear his fall 2010 Collection for a showdown challenge between “them” aspiring models and professional models.
