America’s Next Top Model Cycle 24 Episode 7 – Beauty is Raw Photoshoot

This episode was quite intimate in more ways than one. In a challenge where they had to create an anti-bullying PSA, the girls revealed some of the horrible tragedy they’ve experienced in the past. Kyla, Christina and Sandra won said challenge and and their video will be used as part of a national digital campaign for National Crime Prevention Council.

Tyra took over the lens this week with the remaining nine girls only donning their under garments for the shoot.

Brendi K.

I’m not the biggest fan of Brendi K. but this for me was her best picture to date. I loved that she looks fresh sans make-up.

Christina

I couldn’t imagine why this frame was deemed her best shot. She looks so uncomfortable and look at that tension in her neck! (Now, we don’t have to wonder why…)

Erin

I liked Erin but this reminds me of Bellatrix Lestrange posting a #justwokeup Insta story. Uh, no. Just no.

Jeana

I loved her but this isn’t working for me, tbh.

Khrystyana

This should have been her third ‘solo’ first call out! Girl is killing it!

Kyla

Okay, I kind of get the “editorial” vibe of it but this is real boring for me.

Rio

Bish knows how to work it. This is another favorite of mine this week. Werrrk.

Sandra

I loved Sandra’s look but up to this point, she’s just playing it safe. I want some fire from her and not just a pretty face!

Shanice

Miss Thing right here is fierce but the “rawness” of the shot – meh.

Surprise! Surprise! For the first time in the history of the show, we’ve a seven-way-tie for the first call out leaving (predictably) Christina and Erin at the bottom.

And not surprisingly, Christina (finally) got the boot! Bye girl!

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 24 Episode 6 – Queens vs Princesses Photoshoot

So far, this has been the most talked about episode of the season for two reasons: One, because it features RuPaul’s Drag Race’s Queens – the lovely Valentina, the adorable Manila Luzon and the feisty Katya Zamolodchikova and second, because Liberty’s elimination was mired by accusations that she was booted off the show because of her political views.

Liberty

Err… I personally don’t think so. From the get-go, I thought she was one of the weakest models in the house so I figured that eventually, she would get the boot even earlier than this stage.

She’s lucky she lasted this long to be able to meet Drag Queens for the first time. *rolls eyes*

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 24 Episode 5 – Beauty Sandwich Photoshoot

Now, this episode I absolutely loved! And let’s just get straight to the point – Coura may have been one of the strongest models in the house and she’s lagging behind this past few weeks so I’d say it’s hard, but it’s fair (ugh, as much as Liberty still irks me)

In this episode, we get to see the remaining 11 models work with YouTuber Patrick Starr (who’s coming to Manila soon) in a beauty vlog which Sandra surprisingly won. Haha! Sorry, couldn’t resist!

The shoot was a beauty shoot where the models faces were stacked on top of one another and it’s actually one of the best shoot this season if I may say (already I’ve already said the same thing last episode. LOL)

Brendi, Khrystyana and Liberty

Brendi K. killed this shot for me. The other two were like mere accessories.

Christina, Erin and Shanice

I’m not liking this one bit if I’m being honest. Christina and Erin looks like they just woke up. Shanice on the other hand was giving me Cycle 12 winner Teyona Anderson vibes.

Jeana, Coura and Rio

Well, Rio deserved her spot. Although I do think the other two deserved to stay longer.

Kyla, Ashley and Sandra

Well, look at this! They look equally stunning here. Glad that Ashley didn’t steal the show from these two!

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 24 Episode 4 – American Horror Story

The official title of the episode is “Beauty is Drama” and the shoot was inspired by American Horror Story hence the title of this blog post.

The brief is about becoming scary yet fierce at the same time. I think so far, this is my favorite shoot to date but gaaah, I can only name two who made me think that they could be in a magazine editorial and that is Brendi K and Christina – the rest are just meh for me.

Brendi K.

She’s definitely getting stronger each week! She looks a bit short here but that face!

Christina

This is fierce to the Nth level!!! Mama Ty approves!

Coura

Erin

Yikes!

Jeana

Khrystyana

Kyla

This is actually scary!

Liberty

In all fairness to Liberty, she’s really working it.

Rhiyan

Sandra

Shanice

We do not have Liz’s picture here because girl couldn’t handle it and quit the game!

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 24 Episode 3 – The Makeovers!

In this episode, the remaining 14 models were each given a signature trademark that would hopefully set them apart from everyone. Again, there’s the usual drama which I honestly couldn’t stand because they all knew what the’ve signed up for.

Brendi K.

I absolutely loved this look! It made her non-boring!

Christina

Not very sure about the hair color but Christina is one of my favorites this cycle so I’m giving her a pass here.

Coura

Coura looks amazing but she’s a very weak model, IMO. Just putting it out there.

Erin

She’s always safe. She’s not showing me anything new. I think she needs to go soon.

Jeana

My favorite make-over, most definitely!

Khrystyana

Is she really better than Tocarra? Nah.

Kyla

Another favorite of mine! I adore her duck lips! She reminds me of the models of early 2000’s.

Liberty

I don’t get her. I mean, I still don’t get her. I don’t give a hoot about her FCO. I still think that she’s very pedestrian.

Liz

Guuurrr…

Rhiyan

Is this still a thing now?  Loved her look but not the hair, tbh.

Rio

Delish makeover! Wow!!!

Sandra

She really look like an actress or a beauty queen!

Shanice

I really thought Shanice should’ve left along with Ivana but I guess potential-wise, she still has a lot to give.

We all knew that Ivana won’t make it past the the top 10 based on the caliber of her competition. I mean, she looked absolutely smashing during the shoot but being pretty just won’t cut it. No shade. Just tea.

Ivana

Bye girl!

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 24 Episode 2 Photoshoot: Bohemia Pregnancy

The challenge this episode was a runway challenge at the Venice Beach skate park – remember, Cycle 15? Anyhoo, the girls modeled designs from Baja East with the winner getting a chance to walk the the designer’s show at the New York fashion week. Khrystyana won the challenge and deservingly so.

As for the shoot this week, they were to have a bohemian pregnancy shoot with featured photogs Charlotte Rutherford. I honestly didn’t like this shoot very much. It’s almost a beauty shoot in a way and I wished they’d do more of that in the future shoots.

Brendi K

Christina

Coura – I’m not exactly in agreement with Mama Ty when she picked this as the best shot this week. Oh, well.

Ivana

Khrystyana

Kyla

Liberty – I honestly just want her to get the boot.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 24 Episode 1 Avant-garde Photoshoot (Non-Elimination)

Mama TyTy was back hosting the show and the premiere episode of the 24th cycle of the show introduces us to diverse ladies vying for the Top Model title!

Nobody got the boot yet, so nothing interesting has happened yet aside from the contestant who’s deem to have an attitude but I mean – she telling it straight to mama, so there’s that.

I had the pleasure to walk in #theREALcatwalk a guerilla lingerie fashion show in response to the Victoria Secret fashion show’s lack of body diversity 👙 It was incredibly refreshing so be around such a large and diverse group of women, whom were all bringing each other up. Most of us were pretty scared to do this walk, all for many different and complex reasons. However, what was the most moving was of how apt everyone was to help one another overcoming their anxiety; and how badass we all became when we hit that runway. We were fearless. And continued to be for the next hour of taking photos in the freezing cold. It was the most inspiring thing to see. Everyone was a goddess.👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼👏🏻THIS IS WHAT WOMEN DO WHEN THEY ACTUALLY GET TOGETHER AND SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER!!!!!!! 💥 👉The patriarchal structure has pitted women against one another, as competition, so they would not join forces. 👈 Because when women join forces we are invincible. ✨💫✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿💫✨ (photos @abbeydrucker @bitcreate @rjartistry @aceofnyc) ALSO SHOUTOUT TO @khrystyana FOR ORGANIZING THIS WHOLE DAMN THING IN LIKE 4 DAYS. THIS INCLUDES: coordinating meeting times, show times, locations etc with at least 20 models and numerous press people along with keeping us all in line and making this show happen!! PLUS HAVING SNACKS AFTER. 😋You are a force to be reckoned with, I am so honored to call you my friend 💗@khrystyana I love you and you’re punk as fuck!!!!! 🧝🏻‍♀️💕✊💥
