Troye Sivan for SM Youth! #TroyeForSMYouth #WeAreSMYouth #SMYTH

I was lurking around my Liked pages on Facebook and I stumbled upon what seems to be another “fake news” because there’s no way that Troye Sivan was actually in Manila! I mean, there was no publicity, not even a tiny bit of announcement from Troye himself but when pictures started to surface on the net – I was literally beside myself! It’s true!!! Troye was actually in Manila that day – I still have no idea how long he actually stayed here but it’s safe to say that it wasn’t that long!

See that first tweet from the the screen-grab of his twitter page – this article from CNN might be IT. Apparently,  Daddy Bean did a campaign shoot with SM Youth’s newest clothing line called SMYTH. Nicely done there SM!

I’m actually ready to go shopping in SM!!! Also, pretty please SM! Bring Troye back in Manila for a concert!!!!!

SMYTH will be at the SM Youth section of all branches of The SM Store starting July 24. Follow SM Youth on Instagram and Facebook for more updates.

A Dream Come True: Britney Spears Live in Manila Concert!

Seeing Britney Spears in person was by far, the most surreal moment of my life. It was the 15th of June, Thursday, year 2017 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Rewind to 1999.

I was a high-school sophomore in the province. It was this year that I was facing tremendous personal struggles – exploring my sexuality and a family situation that my brain couldn’t comprehend at that time. To alleviate my confusion and depressing thoughts, I turned to music. Back in the days, we only have the radio and television for entertainment. I love music in general, and I have this affinity to American country music since my parents used to play them a lot as I was growing up. The year 1999 was also the year that pop music entered my life. it’s the year when international boy bands started dominating the Philippine airwaves as well as a slew of international female solo-acts led by an American teenager who captured the nation and the rest of the world with her debut song that you’d know would be an instant classic.

Britney’s Baby One More Time.

I first heard it on the radio. It was a fun and catchy song. I just loved listening to it and it got an enormous rotation all throughout the Philippine FM radio stations. People are all over it!

Then I saw the video and saw the singer for the first time on MTV Asia. Right there and then, I already liked her. She’s young and is a teenager like me. It’s like I can relate to her even if she’s a girl. Also, she’s so damn cute!

She then dropped her succeeding singles that includes Sometimes, Crazy, From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart and Born To Make You Happy and I knew I’m a goner. I’ve also accepted that I was indeed into boys and Britney Spears’ music inspired me to reconnect with the real me for some reason. I already loved her by this time. I’ve got posters in the room which I shared with my younger brother and my lovely Mom even bought me a cassette tape of her album. I still have that until now!

Fast Forward to 2011

The Femme Fatale Album Launch in the Philippines.

Roughly around six years ago, I’ve met the wonderful individuals I’ve been talking to online over the years thru Pinoy Exchange’ Pinoys Heart Britney thread. This album launch is where I met fans like me who’ve been admiring Britney since the very beginning. It was a lovely event, an exciting one and meeting people like me who loved her as much as I do is like having another family. This is when I realized that the Britney Army are my other family.

2013-2014 My Blackout Years

I’ve had personal struggles and had to take a break from everything in my life but I’ve kept in touch with what’s been happening in the world – at least a little bit and was glad that Britney keeps on slaying!

2017. Sneaking away to the Philippines.

It was a dream come true not only for me but for the loyal Britney fans. The announcement, just March of this year took everyone by surprise. It was a hurried announcement and an unexpected one. Everbody couldn’t believe it! Britney is finally coming to perform for her Filipino Army! I was personally petrified for some reason. Is this a dream? Did I finally crack? And as the day of the ticket selling approaches, I knew that it’s fucking real. I was saving for an overseas trip but knew that I had to prioritize seeing “my” queen! Bye, bye Indochina Trip! Mama is coming home!

THE Day.

I was a wreck on the day of the concert. I was almost hysterical inside and was just way damn nervous. I guess, I’m still in shock and still couldn’t believe that I’m finally about to see her in person. Like flesh and bones and I’ll be in the same venue WITH her!!!

It was everything I could wish for. Britney didn’t disappoint. The Army’s dream of seeing her perform came true and it was just EVERYTHING. I didn’t cry upon seeing her while most of my fellow army were struggling to keep it together. I was too ecstatic – almost hysterically ecstatic watching her dance her hits away.

She was glorious and the two decades of waiting for her to visit the country was just oh-so-worth it. I said in one of my Instagram posts that I didn’t know what surreal means until that moment I saw her on stage doing her thing. Truth be told, it was a magical experience.

Some people may not understand why we loved Britney so much. They are criticising her for not singing live and not dancing the way she used to. They said it wasn’t worth the thousands of money we’ve spent on her. That is where they are wrong tho – our love for Britney goes beyond simply loving her songs and admiring her dancing skills. Britney is an inspiration to us. Britney unites us. Britney is part of our personal history. She’s a damn good Mother and damn good human being!

She’s Britney, Bitch!

Seeing Britney Spears in person was by far, the most surreal moment of my life.

Thank you Britney Spears! I love you! We love you!

Pure Genius: ‘Kill For You’ by Skylar Grey featuring Eminem (With Lyrics)

Eminem and Skylar Grey

(Skylar Grey)
You gon’ make make me a believer
Even if that shit ain’t true
You gon’ make me commit murder
Baby, I’d kill for you

In my eyes
Even if you are wrong, you are right
Even if there is a terrible crime
It’s alright, cause I got your back, and I know you got mine
I belong to the church of your name
Sing a song, cause I worship the ground you walk on
If I pray for you, I know you’ll be there

You gon’ make make me a believer
Even if that shit ain’t true
You gon’ make me commit murder
Baby, I’d kill for you

In my bed I believe every word that you’ve said
Just a kiss and you make me forget
All the bad, the battles we lost, the bodies we hid
You don’t know, just how far I’d be willing to go
You put the cracks into my moral code
So you can count on me to always be there

You gon’ make make me a believer
Even if that shit ain’t true
You gon’ make me commit murder
Baby, I’d kill for you

Oh, Lord, forgive my weary hands
And for what they may do
I’ll carry out his evil plans
If he wants me to

(Eminem)
In your dream, you’re drowning, I just walked in and saved you
I’m your alternate escape route, the alter you pray to
Your ultimate savior, your behavior is altered
Ain’t your fault cause I made you
Brainwashed and persuade you
Gibraltar, you’re fatal, never falter or waver
When you causing the danger I’m your guardian angel
Nobody can tell you shit, you’re already major
Mine just follow me, babe, you
Won’t be sorry you stayed, you
Always ride, whatever the plan is
To the end, even if I led us into an ambush
Even if we robbed the First National and cops caught us redhanded
They’re coming at us, and we’re trapped, put our backs up
Against the wall, and it’s too tall
You catapult me or hold the ladder for me
Stay back to get captured, take the fall
You make it all worth it
Baby doll, you’re perfect the way you are
Accidents happen
All I know is you love me, that’s really all that matters
And any who cross our paths are just collateral damage
At your side, got your lateral, back, your front, diagonal
Backwards, blackbirds, we attack like animals
When they threaten what we have it’s a natural reaction
You lay a bitch flat on her back in a second flat for me
Who tries to take your man from you
It’s blasphemy, it’s another casualty, you’ll go whatever route
Whatever you have to do, you blast for me, I never doubt

(Skylar Grey)
You gon’ make make me a believer
Even if that shit ain’t true
You gon’ make me commit murder
Baby, I’d kill for you

‘Hands’ Lyrics
[Verse 1: Britney Spears + Gwen Stefani]
Can hold a gun
And hold your heart
Can put out fires
And make ’em start
Skin and bones
And flesh and blood
With all this nerve
How did we get this numb

[Pre-Chorus: Meghan Trainor + Troye Sivan]
Cus they can hurt
Or they can heal
They can give back
Or they can steal
They can break the world
Or they can change it too
[Chorus: All Together]
Ooh hands
Hands
Woooo hands
Oh hands
Cause they can love
Or they can take
They can fight up
Until they save
They can break the world
They can change it too
Ooh hands

[Verse 2: Selena Gomez + Kacey Musgraves]
Doesn’t matter
Who you love
All that matters
Is your love
I’ve been watching news
And seeing all this hate
Tell me is it wrong
To want a little change

[Pre-Chorus: Mary J. Blige]
They can hurt
Or they can heal
They can give back
Or they can steal
They can break the world
Or they can change it too

[Chorus: All Together led by Jason Derulo]
Ooh hands
Hands
Woooo hands
Oh hands
Cause they can love
Or they can take
They can fight up
Until they save
They can break the world
They can change it too
Ooh hands

[Post-Chorus: Led by Imagine Dragons]
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
Ooooh

[Bridge: Jennifer Lopez]
Can hold a gun
And hold your heart
Can put out fires
And make ’em start
I’ve been watching news
And seeing all this hate
Tell me is it wrong
To want a little change

[Chorus: Adam Lambert & Tyler Glenn + P!NK & MNEK]
Ooh hands
Hands
Woooo hands
Oh hands
Cause they can love
Or they can take
They can fight up
Until they save
They can break the world
They can change it too
Ooh hands

[Post-Chorus: Led by Imagine Dragons]
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
Ooooh

[Outro: RuPaul + (Mary Lambert) + Nate Ruess + Together]
Just take my hand baby
Everybody’s in love
(All that matters is your love)
(Change it or break it)
(They can love or they can take it, take it all)
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
If a million hands can build a wall
A million hands can break it down
Ooooh

Out Now: Keep Talking by Cyrus

Keep Talking CrysI’m sure you’ve heard about this guy already but if you haven’t, he’s actually the winner of the 2015 X Factor Australia. He is Cyrus Villanueva or simply known as Cyrus. His first self-titled studio album was released last December which reached  the top 10 in Australia.

Lyrics of Keep Talking

Don’t know what to say
when you’re acting way
you just bring me down, down

I’m trying to change
but you find another way
just to bring me down, down

And I know you’re never quitting
even if it’s for the sake of us

I’ve had enough
Oh, baby

I know better than you keep on fighting
but you keep talking, keep talking
Every time I try to change the station
you just keep talking… keep

I don’t wanna stay in this place
It’s written all over my face
I can’t take it no more
you just keep talking
‘Cause I’m walking away

Drivin’ me insane
tryna work out in my brain
and you bring me down, down

when things don’t go your way
i guess you got to blame for all your life’s turnout

no i said i’ll never leave you
but you’re giving me no other choice
i’ve had enough

oh, baby

I know better than you keep on fighting
but you keep talking, keep talking
Every time I try to change the station
you just keep talking… keep

I don’t wanna stay in this place
It’s written all over my face
I can’t take it no more
you just keep talking
‘Cause I’m walking away

baby keep on talking
with every step i’m driving you out
gotta keep on moving
’cause there’s no point in staying around

oh.

Don’t know what to say
when you’re acting way
you just bring me down, down

I know better than you keep on fighting
but you keep talking, keep talking
Every time I try to change the station
you just keep talking… keep

I don’t wanna stay in this place
It’s written all over my face
I can’t take it no more
you just keep talking
‘Cause I’m walking away

I know better than you keep on fighting
but you keep talking, keep talking
Every time I try to change the station
you just keep talking… keep

I don’t wanna stay in this place
It’s written all over my face
I can’t take it no more
you just keep talking
‘Cause I’m walking away
