Episode 7 is entitled Beauty For A Cause. Their challenge was a make-up challenge easily won by Sofia who chooses Kate to go with her at a spa treatment, the challenge prize.
Nadya mail says “Beauty for a cause is never only skin deep. Tomorrow, you will give back and go back to basics.” The photoshoot was a nature photoshoot for World Wildlife Fund (WWF.)

I’m not very conservative but I somehow find this “Anne Frank – Salute To Freedom” shirt pretty unnerving which is being sold at a local store here in Manila. Aside from the fact that the design’s ugly, the whole use of the imagery was just off. I guess it’s just me but I thought that no creativity was used in the making of this shirt. Looking at it feels all so wrong.

Episode 6 had the eight remaining girls compete for a TRESemme Challenge for a chance to win an all-expense paid trip to New York for the Fashion Week 2013. Whoa! Now, that is huge! They were asked to shoot an online video campaign where they have to style their own hair and write their own scripts! This challenge proved to be the shining moment of Aastha as she delivered her lines so flawlessly and became the most believable for the campaign!
The photoshoot simply requires the girls to look pretty and be a model – it is a beauty shoot! Now, this is my kind of shoot where you get to see who truly are model materials and will shine through without too many props!
Sofia was declared having the best picture this episode!
Sofia’s photo was declared the best which I totally agree with so congratulations girl! She was followed by Jessica, Stephanie, Aastha, Meliss and Helene. Kate and Rachel found themselves at the bottom with Rachel ultimately getting the boot 😦

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
19,000 people fit into the new Barclays Center to see Jay-Z perform. This blog was viewed about 130,000 times in 2012. If it were a concert at the Barclays Center, it would take about 7 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
Hello! Hello! Dear friends and readers! Thank you for sharing this wonderful and amazing year with me – whether you know me personally or you’re simply a reader of this site, I want to give my heartfelt THANKS for spending your time reading and browsing my little cyber space here 🙂
May you all have a merry Christmas and an amazing new year to come!!!!! Maraming salamat po!
Now this week’s episode was a real shocker for me – I mean, I kinda expected the eliminated girl not to win but to get the boot over some other girls? C’mon now! Plus judge Daniel Boey’s getting so mean as the season progresses – wtf.
Kate Ma got the best picture this week!
Kate Ma finally got her first call out followed by Aastha, Jessica, Helena, Rachel, Stephanie and Sofia. The bottom two are Trang and Melissa….and the person that’s still in the running towards becoming Asia’s Next Top Model is Melissa. 😦

Janine during the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 Parade Of Beauties.
I am joining the herds of pageant fans thinking that it should’ve been Janine Tugonon, Miss Universe Philippines 2012 who should be wearing the Miss Universe Diamond Nexus crown today but the decision has been made and Miss USA – Olivia Culpo was declared the brightest star in the Universe. Olivia isn’t on my Top 16 list after the preliminary competition and I only placed her 11th on my prediction which I posted in a popular pageant site missosology. I guess, it wasn’t really the time for the Philippines to win its third Miss Universe crown – not just yet.
Here’s Janine after the 2012 Bb.Pilipinas Coronation Night and yours truly photobombing the queen! Haha (nah – didn’t get the chance to hold her then LOL)
I’ve been vocal about not being the biggest fan of Janine Tugonon ever since she joined the Binibining Pilipinas 2011 but I already accepted the fact that she’d be the one to carry the Philippine flag so I just prayed that she’ll be able to carry on the achievements of Venus Raj and Shamcey Supsup. I was proven wrong several times by this girl with her sheer determination and perseverance to prove her critics wrong and be a great representative of our country.
Today in Manila and last night in Las Vegas, Janine showed the world what a true Filipina is – beautiful, intelligent and sophisticated. I am very proud of what she have accomplished and even if she didn’t win the crown, in my heart and in the hearts of every Filipino – she is the Miss Universe 2012.
Relive Janine’s night and her incredible performance representing the 7,107 islands of the Philippines!
Episode 4 features sexy Filipino-Canadian presenter and model Jason Godfrey in a photoshoot requiring the girls to be sexy yet still be a “model.” Who stood out in this week’s shoot and who should’ve been knocked out from the competition?

‘better late than never aye “) Everyone’s been raving about this Maranaw-inspired traditional costume designed by Pitoy Moreno. It’s a far fetched costume from the usual “terno” that our representatives have been wearing from the past years. I actually loved it and Janine carried it with class and elegance! Way to represent Janine!
I just finished reviewing the Miss Universe 2012 preliminary competition and I sure had a tough time grading each delegate’s performances. I came up with my top 16 (17 that is, because there’s a tie for the last spot.) My Top 16 is based solely on the telecast preliminary and does not include their interview (obviously.) Last year, I got eight over 16 and three of my choices were part of the finalists (Miss Universe 2011 – Angola, 3rd runner-up Philippines and 4th runner-up China.) I’m hoping that I’d get more this year haha. Who are your top 16?
