My Miss World Philippines 2013 First Hot Picks!

A week from now, the new Miss World Philippines will be crowned and will have the task to win the first blue crown for the country. Twenty-six lovely girls are vying for the crown but only one can win the most coveted title. I was trying to do a Top 10 Hot Picks but I decided to just pick three girls whom I think had the strongest chances of making the top 3. This could very well change in a week’s time so I’d be posting the first one today and my final hot picks a day before the pageant. Here are my Top 3 Hot Picks!

MWP 2013 First HotPicks

Miss World Philippines 2013 – Megan Young (Olongapo City)

Why Megan? The 23-year old celebrity is still the one to beat in this competition. She’s the prettiest out of all the contestants this year and her presentation thus far is flawless. Let no politics be played and we’ll see Megan wearing the Philippine sash in Indonesia this September.

First Princess – Melanie Barret (Pampanga)

Melanie is a fresh face in the Philippines pageant circuit and I love that she’s raw but still ready to battle it out with the more experienced candidates. I love her mestiza look and her pedigree would surely catapult her on top.

2nd Princess – Bianca Paz (Taguig City)

Bianca’s trying it out for the second time after winning second to the first Miss World Philippines and eventual Miss World 2011 first princess Gwendolyn Ruais. She came ready to win the crown but I think she kinda lost her spark. I’m still waiting for her amazing performance on the 18th but for now, I won’t discard her into my top 3.

A second consecutive first call out is no easy feat especially if you’re the shortest model in the house. Melissa with that face can do no wrong in front of the judges! She’s killing everyone in the competition with this very simple yet striking high fashion shot! You go girl, I am sooo rooting for you!

Hinarani’s glowing exotic features made her one of THE ONE TO BEAT girls for the crown and only a Bodine-Koehler robbery would deny her a place in the semis!

Croatia has never won the Miss Universe title since 1997 when they fielded their first delegate to compete in the pageant but that may very well change this year with the participation of the very young Melita Fabecic. With a towering height of 5 feet and 10 inches and hailed as the sexiest and most beautiful woman in her country, Melita is setting the bar high and is becoming a favorite amongst pageant fans around the world to win the coveted title in Russia this year. Is this the year for Croatia? I’d say there’s a big possibility!

2013 Australia’s Next Top Model Cycle 8 Episode 2 Photoshoot – Lost Travelers

I’m actually stunned with the results this episode. I thought the girl who got the boot was one of the “front runners” of this competition for having one of the strongest looks… oh well, maybe that’s just for me. Here are the photos of the 15 girls who went overseas right away – in the beautiful country of Thailand for an impressive second photoshoot posing as lost travelers. If truth be told, the Australian version is the best amongst any other Top Model series!

After an alleged attempt to join and be denied from the screening at the Binibining Pilipinas beauty pageant held earlier this year, Actress Megan Young is now targeting the Miss World Philippines crown for a chance to represent the country to this year’s Miss World that will be held in Indonesia and win the first blue crown for the Philippines.

Megan is best know as an alumna of the now defunct star search StarStruck from GMA 7 and was also a  housemate at ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition 2 . She is currently a university student taking Digital Film Making at the De La Salle – College of Saint Benilde.

Her cover on the Rogue Magazine which contains her controversial photos that allegedly led to her disqualification from this year's Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
