Awwee. Look how grown up Hiccup is 🙂 This is just so cute and I can’t just wait for it! I wrote a review about the first one in 2010 and it’s one of the few films that I find flawless!!! Just amazing!! Basing on the trailers, this one looks equally promising! 🙂
Malaysian model Sheena Liam was adjudged the winner of the second cycle of the modeling reality show, Asia’s Next Top Model. Liam bested 15 other finalists for the title including Filipino models Jodilly Pendre and Katarina Rodriguez as runners-up.
After twelve weeks, the competition is now down to three girls battling it out to be this season’s Asia’s Next Top Model. Sheena is the girl who could give you good pictures but not good enough to clinch the top spot of any shoot from the past episodes. So are we up for a mediocre finish from this driven Malaysian model or is she ready to give it all for the final show and deliver a stunning photo and topple the competition? Katarina on the other hand have shown that she’s not only the face of the competition but she could also be a threat for the title by delivering some outstanding shots that catapult her on top getting two first call-outs that ultimately led her to the finale. Is she peaking a little too late or will Katarina battle it out like there’s no tomorrow and prove to everyone that she’s really the right gal for the title? Or is it going to be fellow Filipina finalist Jodilly, whose height, runway skills and sunny personality be the formidable force that will hinder the dreams of the other two to win the coveted title? Delivering outstanding photo after another, Jodilly’s versatility did not go unnoticed in the competition by receiving two best photo award and winning some of the challenges. Will this be enough for this sweet gal from the Philippines to win it all or are we still up for more come final showdown?
A week after a “rather surprising but well received ” win of three-time joiner Mary Jean “MJ” Lastimosa at the annual Binibining Pilipinas, the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines is enjoying (reaping) her reign (hard work) this early with non-stop TV appearances and interviews and much admiration from the public. Lastimosa, who previously joined in 2011 and 2012 and went home crown-less has provided pageant fans and the likes an epic story of determination and resiliency by winning the most coveted title and proving to everyone that if you have a dream, you must never give up on it despite of the many odds in reaching it.
With that, I just want to exclaim how proud I am with MJ. I’ve been a fan since her first stint in 2011 and placed her on top always because I believe that she’s got the capabilities to make us proud and this early, I truly feel it in my guts that MJ will leave an even bigger impression not only with the Filipino people but with the international audience as well. Salamat MJ sa inspirasyon! Mabuhay ka!
p.s
MJ will have her grand homecoming on April 8, 2014 at the Provincial Capitol Gymnasium in Amas, Kidapawan City. She will also be gracing the Sayaw Kutawato 2014, one of the highlights of the Centennial Celebrations of Cotabato.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to see up-close the newly crowned Binibining Pilipinas queens as they were presented to the press people at the Balay, Araneta Center. I could say that this batch is truly something from the runners-up to each and every crowned winner. They all have their own aura that set each other apart. The event was also attended by the Queens of 2013 who gave their message of support and encouragement to the new title holders.
I wasn’t able to ask any questions because they mainly focused on the bigger media peeps. So let me just share with you some of the pictures I took from yesterday’s event.

I have a feeling that this batch will even be more successful than their predecessor! Goodluck girls! Mabuhay kayong lahat!
Four girls are still in the competition and this time, it’s anybody’s ballgame. Malaysian girl Sheena is still very much alive after a top finish last episode wanting to prove herself. Japanese Marie on the other hand is still trying to stay afloat despite steep competition. Meanwhile, the two aspiring top model from the Philippines – Jodilly and Katarina – are on a roll, keeping it strong in the hopes of becoming Asia’s Next Top Model.
Katarina
This is no doubt Katja’s best shot to date – as in EVER! I’m just glad that she peaked at the right time. This is really smashing and I could totally see this in any fashion magazine! Her left fingers are just a bit weird but overall, I love how dynamic her shot was!
Jodilly
Wow! Jodillycious! This is Jodilly showing her sensual side and those legs are just never-ending! She’s totally selling the dress and those shoes! Work it girl!
Sheena
I do not like this shot at all. I like Sheena as a model but this isn’t just working for me. I thought the styling doesn’t suit her and the posing was just awkward. She could’ve given more.
Marie
I love the dynamic of Marie’s photo but I’m not sold by her body movements which looks a bit awkward that it’s almost stiff.
First Call Out: Katarina
2nd: Jodilly
Bottom Two: Sheena & Marie
Eliminated: Marie
So with the judges decision to let go of Marie, the finale was set witj Katarina, Jodilly and Sheena to battle it out for the ultimate prize. So who’s it going to be?
During the second week when Nicole ultimately went on top!
As per Asia’s Next Top Model official statement: Due to the recent events surrounding flight MH370 and out of respect and sensitivity for those affected, this episode of #AsNTM2 was not televised as it was filmed in collaboration with Malaysia Airlines. Please enjoy the following episode, which has been edited to ensure continuity.
Here’s that edited episode
I’m actually quite shock that Nicole actually got the boot. I thought out of the remaining girls, she along with Jodilly were the strongest model in the house. In the recap you can see that Cycle 1 winner Jessica Amornkuldilok visited them and gave them some tips on walking the runway. Anyhow, I think it was a wise and quite sensible for them not to televise the whole thing.
Call Out Order
1. Sheena
2. Jodilly
3. Marie
Bottom 2: Katarina and Nicole
Eliminated: Nicole
Who would’ve thought that the day would come that each one of these girls are all going to be Binibining Pilipinas crowned queens? Ofcourse the three are already winners from this batch, (Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Shamcey Supsup, Binibining Pilipinas International Diane Necio and Binibining Pilipinas Tourism Isabela Manjon)Â then a year later, Janine Tugonon (1st runner-up) was crowned Miss Universe Philippines whereas the 2nd runner-up Mary Jean Lastimosa who also participated went home empty handed. This year though, it’s still very fresh to us since it just happened last Sunday when Lastimosa finally grabbed the Miss Universe Philippines title. What a beautiful batch indeed because all of ’em are winners!
