Their faces and names are already posted in different sites and some of them are already creating enough buzz and hype but it’s the final night on March 30 that matters the most. So after weeks of grueling screening process, callbacks and all – the over 100 applicants of this year’s Binibining Pilipinas were trimmed down to 40! I’ve to say how impressed I am with the quality of the candidates this year. There are a lot of fresh faces who are all very much qualified to win any of the crowns as well as the repeaters who are more ready and more beautiful this time! Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 Episode 4 – The Girl That Embraces Change (Makeover Episode!)

Last night’s episode saw the 12 remaining girls undergo makeovers. Some of them aren’t happy about it as usual (cmon’ girls, if you wanna be a model, you’ve to be ready to DO THIS!)

For their photoshoot, they were styled by Nicoline to look their best in a 60’s chich style themed shoot! Who do you think got the boot this time?

I’m giving up on Janice. She’s short and she’s not using her full potentials that the judges saw in her…

I actually like this shot of Jodilly and kinda disagree with the judges’ critique. I thought she looked fresh but a little too modern perhaps

Josephine nailed this shot like no other and she’s definitely the one to beat at this point!!! Consistency is the game!

my baby Katja looks pretty here and that’s just it. Cmon’ girl, step it up!

Marie here reminds me a little of Nik Pace (Top Model US Cycle 5 runner up) and a mix of Solange Knowles. I don’t know if this is good or what…but this is great picture!

Natalie is so basic that it hurts me that some of the girls went home before her…

I am a fan of this girl. She’s feisty and she looks cool! Plus she’s tall! Get it girl!

I’m loving Poojaa’s styling here! Sophistication’s her last name!

Sheena’s style is so striking that she always manage to stand out. Not this time though

This isn’t working at all for me. The reflection is much fiercer for me! She’s got it though – bad styling perhaps?

Tia’s the shortest in the bunch and she doesn’t look like a model at all. She needs to leave next tbh

Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 Episode 3 – The Girl Who’s Hot When She Is Cold

This episode almost killed half of the girls in the house. For their reward challenge, the girls did a commercial shoot for Visit Malaysia 2014 ads where they have to walk the runway on top of Menara Kuala Lumpur (KL Tower)! Janice had a panic attack while most of the girls did pretty well. Hometown girl Josephine was the winner of this challenge!

For their third shoot, the girls are to posed sexy as they test their limits to withstand the cold wearing just skimpy outfitsin SnoWalk in Sengalor. Most of them were amazing this episode except for Janice who seemed to be off her elements this week.

At panel, Josephine was yet again praised for her consistency as well as Nicole (who’s becoming my favorite by the way) for delivering edgy looks. The judges were not that impressed with the rest but they ultimately felt Janice and Jihye didn’t deliver at all…

So who’s getting the boot???

Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 Episode 2 – Who Attracts the Following?

Last night’s episode was pretty interesting with the remaining 14 girls vying for the title of the most bad@ss model in the house LOL. For their challenge, they were to form three groups with three girls each leaving Nicole and Sneha group-less so they formed a two-girl group instead. The groups are to take “selfies” of themselves and the winner of that challenge was the beautiful Pooja who shared her reward to… Katarina! They went to an helicopter ride, sightseeing the beautiful Malaysian scenery.

Shortly after that, the girls are to pose in Malaysian traditional clothing in Batu Caves ( a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples situated in Gombak district in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.)

During the shoot, each girl just had 15 frames to work with. Jodilly, Janice, Nicole and Sneha impressed the photographer while Pooja, Katja and Natalie did okay. Bona was not showing versatility disappointing everyone in the shoot and the rest are just hanging there.

Prior to the panel, the girls are having some issues with each other esp Nicole over Janice whose being a brat in my opinion. Wow! I feel like watching an episode of the American version with this episode! LOL. Tia’s being all so bitchy with Katja. At panel, they hated Bona’s picture. Too bland IMO. I also didn’t like Tia’s pose. She’s not a model, TBH and the judges doesn’t like it as well. #served

Anyways, here are the pictures from last night episode. Don’t mind my critique, that’s just me. >_<

Bona

This is beyond lifeless. I thought she’d be great over the run of the show but this is pretty boring.

Janice

I do not like her at all. This photo isn’t very good to begin with. She look one dimensional in my opinion.

Jihye

I feel that the dress is too much for her. She’s drowning in this shot.

Jodilly

Biases aside, I think my homegirl’s killing it! The hidden hand was a bit distracting but overall, I’d say that this is a really great shot!

Josephine

I love Josephine’s bone structure. She can do better than this and I’m putting this shot in the upper tier.

Katarina

The ever-so feisty Katja! I totally love her personality but I feel that she’s not bringing it! She’s without question the prettiest in the house but “pretty” can only get you further.

Marie

I feel that she’s being safe but girl has got it!

Natalie

I liked it. I’m just worried that she looks really short which doesn’t help her at all since she’s only 5’7.”

I’m surprised by Nicole. She’s giving me a supermodel aura. I love the position of her legs as well as her face!!! Lovely!

Poojaa (Challenge Winner)

I love this shot. I thought it’s very elegant. Not digging her look but her posture’s quite nice.

She overdid it so there. It didn’t work at all.

Thao

I love Thao! I love how she photographs and her face is just to die for! It’s very interesting!

I’m not really digging it! Tia’s not a model, I’m sorry.

Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 Episode 1 – The Girl Who Walks the Walk

I’ll try to make this post very short. A summary of some sort – a post I should’ve named Episode 1 – The Double Opening Elimination – Oops. So the show started where most of the girls were introduced. They did a bizarre challenge in the tradition of the Top Model ~~let’s see who can survive these damn challenges~~?. Water! They have to walk on water! Well, you get it folks. During this challenge – Josephine, Jodilly and Bona are totally bringing it like a pro while the rest just did a-ok with dear Miss Kat falling – you’re still beautiful my homegirl. After the challenge, Jessie was whisked off the show right away after failing to impress. That was just the fastest elimination, imo. She didn’t even reach the makeover episode! So one down for the Chinese delegation.

The first photoshoot is for the show’s opening credits. Josephine was the most consistent so far so we have to watch out for this bis. She’s amazing! During the judging panel, a new judge was introduced – the Harper’s BAZAAR, Singapore & Harper’s BAZAAR Malaysia Creative Director Kenneth Goh. Hmmm?

Do you think the right girls went home last night? Methinks yes. I love that Elektra’s a character but I didn’t see that much from her as a model during the premier episode. The highly successful region-wide Top Model franchise is back with everything new this 2014! Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 is back next week with 16 aspiring top models from Asia battling it out for supremacy. The show is also back with its first season host Nadya Hutagalung and resident judge Joey Mead-King. They will be joined in the judging panel by Mike Rosenthal (who shot some of the most memorable photoshoot from the American version and personally my favorite Top Model guest photographer) and runway coach and choreographer Adam Williams.

The winner of this cycle will have a thre-month a three-month contract with Storm Model Management, the chance to appear on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, a SGD 100,000 cash prize , a brand new Subaru Car and the chance of being the new face of Canon IXUS and TRESemmé! Now, that is a lot of prizes!

This is indeed a promising season with all these changes so be sure to tune in on January 8, Wednesday 9:40 PM on StarWorld and catch it locally on TV 5 on January 16, 9:00 PM.
