The X Factor UK 2017 – Live Show 4 Recap – Girls and Overs Categories #XFactor

Kevin Davy White singing a Santana song is perfection to the hilt. Seriously, this guy is way ahead of his competitors. He is very likable, has a great image and sings like a proper popstar! If he continue this way, he’s on the right track of winning it all.

Admittedly, this isn’t Matt Linnen’s best performance but it was much better than most of the contestants tonight. And he’s fucking beautiful. Again, he is still my top act to win it all even though Kevin totally outperformed him.

Rai-Elle Williams’ Bailando’s performance is fun to watch and Rai-Elle has so much to offer but I still find her a bit too young and perhaps, her voice not that mature yet. For now, she’s got 2/10 chances of winning this show.

I’ve to agree with Simon on this one. This isn’t Grace as an artist. I know her purpose is to show her versatility as a performer but she’s looks uncomfortable af on that stage. I wished she sang another original. This is her worst performance to date in my opinion.

Holly Tandy’s performance is just cringe-worthy. She butchered the song into oblivion, it’s a good thing she looked so damn pretty while singing it!

This for me is Alisah’s best performance to date because she’s good at belting notes and this showcased her versatility. Unlike Grace, Alisah’s personality suited this transition much better. I still think that she’s got work to do about her diction and pronunciation but homegirl’s determination is there so I’m expecting her to go far in the competition.

Traceyleanne Jefford is one of my favorites this season so I was really sad to see her leave. I thought Rai-Elle should’ve gone home instead but it’s obvious that the public doesn’t really care much for her since she was also at the bottom two last week.

The X Factor UK 2017 – Live Show 3 Recap – Groups and Boys Categories #XFactor

It is Latin Night with Viva Latino as this week’s theme and the prize for the Prize Fight is a recording session with a Grammy Award winning producer as to who it’d be, we’ll probably know tomorrow!

The Groups and the the Boys are battling it out today to remain in the competition and while watching all of their performances, I realized that any of these act could actually win the whole thing!

Let’s start with Jack & Joel who sang Havana by Camila Cabello. I absolutely loved this performance of the duo and thought that this is their best performance to date but I’ve to agree with Simon. They need to do something to really stand out – something that would define what kind of music they would do after the show.

Leon Mallett performed Get Lucky by Daft Funk and I didn’t get why he sang this one in Latin Night. Uhm. As much as I thought that he’s got he weakest voice in the competition, his performance is one of the most enjoyable for me!

Sean and Conor Price sang Cheap Thrills by Sia. I loved this song and I loved these two! They may not be the best singer in the bunch but they are truly likable. They’re slipping on my list as the most likely to win this series but they are still on my top 5, most definitely.

Lloyd Macey performed Hero by Enrique Iglesias and it was just perfection. I didn’t much appreciate his voice before because I find it a bit too controlled but this performances just proved to me that Lloyd is a force in this competition! A big threat to Matt Linnen most definitely!

If there’s anytime that the British public should finally crown a boy group from the show, Rak-Su are the right group for it. They sang another original song called Dimelo and it’s just fucking amazing! I’ve to agree with Nicole when she said that this is a hit single material!

Sam Black did La Bamba and Twist and Shout which I thought was one of the weakest performances of the night. I’m seeing him getting the boot soon if not next week, tbh.

I loved The Cutkelvins who sang Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos) but this is just horrendous in so many levels. The two guys were like the back-up to their lil sis! What’s up with that? It looks like Simon is sabotaging them!

This week’s champion is predictably easy and a well-deserved one for that matter. Rak-Su got the highest votes and will battle it out tomorrow at the Prize Fight!

Eliminated: Leon Mallett – so far, the Brits are getting it right! No Brexit moment for them.

Cover Thursday: Sam Smith’s Too Good At Goodbyes by Spencer Sutherland

So, Spencer just posted this a couple of days ago on his official Youtube channel and I don’t think I am the only one here who thinks that he deserves to stay longer in the X Factor. But it’s over now and the good thing that came off of it is that we discovered this super amazing vocalist that we didn’t even know existed who’s actually been doing music for a while now! How’s that?

Here’s Spencer’s take on Sam Smith’s comeback single, Too Good At Goodbyes.

The X Factor UK 2017 – Live Show 2 Recap – Groups and Overs Categories #XFactor

Last night’s show was a bit interesting since Talia Dean was announced to be the wildcard winner for the Overs category. I assumed that the Brits will get powerhouse singer Berget Lewis through the live show. One of my favorite acts this season, Jack & Joel meanwhile are the wildcard winner for the group category and truth be told, they rightfully deserved it.

Groups

The super good looking siblings The Cutkelvins were the first group to perform with Pink’s What About Us and they were amazing! Their leader, and the youngest and the only girl looks and sounded absolutely amazing!

Irish brother Sean & Conor Price performed their own version of Strong by London Grammar and it wasn’t their best performance but as I’ve been saying from the very start, they are born to do this. They are pop superstars waiting to happen!

Jack & Joel’s song choice was a really good one. It shows their vocal strength but they still look awkward together.

Rak-Su meanwhile performed their original song entitled Mamacita. I think this is the first time I’m convinced that they could actually make it into the finale. The are like the millenial version of the UK boyband from the early 2000, Blue.

Overs

Kevin Davy White sang Stay by Rihanna and Mikky Ekko and it was perfection! Loved his tone and the intensity in his voice. You can truly feel what he’s singing.

I’m a fan of Tracyleanne Jefford. I honestly don’t think that she’d have a chance of winning the whole thing but I’ve a feeling that she’s going to be big after this. I wished she’d sing something from Amy for the next live show! Sis got soul! And she looks absolutely smashing without all those make up.

I felt that Talia’s decision to sing something from One Direction is to rally some 1D fan but I didn’t think that it really worked. She’s improved heaps with her vocals but I still think that she’s got the weakest vocals in the competition along with Leon.

Matt Linnen is my winner at this point. He finally edged out brothers Sean and Conor on my list. He looks like a superstar, like he’s superhot. He’s got a really good voice and he’s very charismatic.

Bottom Two: Tracyleanne Jefford and Talia Dean
Eliminated: Talia Dean and it’s a well-deserved boot as well.. Sorry boo.

Rak-Su by the way is the Live Show 2 Champion who battled it out with Grace Davies for the Prize Fight.

The X Factor UK 2017 – Live Show 1 Recap – Girls and Boys Categories

There’s a bit of a change this season with the live shows as the four categories will be performing across two shows with the Girls and the Boys categories performing on the first night. This is where the wildcard winners were also announced with Alisah Bonaobra and Leon Mallett making it via the public votes for their respective categories.

There will also be a winner for each live show with the two winners battling it out on Sunday to win certain prizes.

The Live Show 1 winner is none other than…

This is an absolutely breathtaking performance from Grace. I wonder if she’ll just be singing original songs all through out her stay in the competition. Her song is called Too Young and it’s absolutely brilliant! A really deserving win, indeed!

And apparently, a chance to see P!nk in concert is the prize this week! Even Dermot made a mistake when he said that she’d get to see Pink… watch…

Holly Tandy – Hollow by Tori Kelly

She isn’t the most polished singer in the bunch but she’s got incredible tone and stage presence. I could totally see her making Top 6.

Rai-Elle Williams – Doo Wop (That Thing) and Lost Ones by Lauryn Hill and No by Meghan Trainor

I don’t hink she’s the strongest singer in the competition but she’s very charming! Girl got sass and I absolutely loved her performance overall.

And finally, as I’ve said from the previous post – Alisah just killed it. Her song choice was absolutely brilliant and she looked wonderful!

Sam Black – Faith by Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved Sam’s personality and he seems like a nice bloke but I gotta say – he is the weakest amongst the boy and probably one of the weakest singers in the show. I don’t exactly know why he got in instead of the likes of Benji…

Lloyd Macey – City of Stars by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone (OST – La La Land)

That personality, that accent! He’s absolutely adorable! And that freaking song!I didn’t think I’d say this but he’s absolutely a winner material after that performance!

Leon Mallett – Stay by Zedd and Alessia Cara

I wasn’t expecting Leon to make it to the live show and win the public votes as the boys wildcard but they obviously loves him. This performance was just okay. Nothing spectacular. I’m gonna give him two more weeks in the show tops.

Spencer Sutherland – Who You Are by Jessie J

What just happened there? I thought he’s the strongest in his category but seriously, what the ever loving fuck? I’m still baffled until now.

It all boils down to Spencer and Leon…such a shame really. Leon over Spencer is just utter BS. #RealTalk

Cover Thursday: Britney Spears’ Heaven on Earth by Matthew McPeck #Blackout10

Here’s my third and final Cover Thursday posts for this week in honor of my girl, Britney’s Blackout 10th year Anniversary! This song is fucking fabulous and one of Britney’s best songs ever!

Here’s a very interesting take of Matthew McPeck to the song published in 2009! I really, really liked it!

Okay, so this isn’t actually a cover but the very demo of the song sung by Keri Hilson who wrote the song herself along with Nate Hills, Marcella Araica and James Washington.

This is actually one of my favorite tracks in the Blackout album! Also, don’t you just loved its music video?

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 8 Recap – Judges’ House – Groups Category #XFactor

Irish brothers Sean and Conor Price upon finding out they made it through the live shows!

Simon reunited with former X Factor judge Cheryl to help him choose who will make it through the live shows.

1. Lemonade – Praise You By Hannah Grace

This is a vocally impressive performane but if I’m being honest, they’re not that memorable.

2. New Girl Band – Misbehaving by Labrinth

They’re just too many in the group. Remember X Factor US’ In1oSity? Ugh. No. Just no. And just to keep it real, they won’t even lasts as a group even if they make it through the live shows.

3. Jack & Joel – Get The Party Started by Pink / Get Ur Freak On by Missy Elliot / Original rap.

Oxford Uni’ duo are wonderful but upon reflection, they just don’t gel at all. They’re two totally different artists who ought to go solo IMO. This performance was good but it’s forgettable.

4. Rak-Su

This performance is just so 90’s, so dated. Uhm, No. They’re all eye fucking Cheryl.

5. Sean & Conor Price – What About Us by Pink

I absolutely loved these two and I still believe that they’re the act with the most potential to win . This performance is one of the best if I may just say.

6. The CutKelvins – Havana by Camilla Cabello

These siblings has got everything going for them. They look like regular popstars already. The girl sings really well and her two bros are total eyecandy backups. They’re “Top of the Pops” & TRL perfection!

The Top 3 Acts who made it through the live shows are : Sean & Conor, The Cutkelvins, Rak-Su
