Have you gotten your invitations to the biggest fashion event in the country this month? We just recently received some invitations and we’re very much excited to see the new collections of the talented designers from the Philippines.
You should also watch out for this year’s Supermodel Of The World Philippines to see who will be the predecessor of the current “Supermodel” winner, Danica Magpantay.
The pageant’s ticket stated that the program will start at 7PM but it actually started at around 9PM. Thank goodness, the beautiful goddesses of this year’s competition are worth the wait. It was somewhat a very predictable night with frontrunners and favorites actually winning.
Shamcey Supsup was crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Universe which was pretty obvious for me. From the very beginning, I thought that Shamcey delivered the goods. Her body isn’t perfect but she can still transform it to a better one. The evening gown she wore was hands down one of the better designs even if she didn’t win Best in Evening Gown. It’s as if her win was already a pre-determined one.
Diane Necio however delivered a rather lackluster performance in my opinion. She was definitely the judges and crowd favorite but I thought that the likes of Arevalo, Al-Tawil and Tumulak performed better than her. I’m not taking this away from her. The girl is beautiful but she’s not the best. Congratulations, though, her color would give the Miss International a beautiful flavor come international pageant time.
Isabella Manjon wore a disaster evening gown but her stage presence overpowered that hindrance to actually win the Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism title. She has such a beautiful face and the camera really loves her. Although we didn’t expect her to actually win a crown, we’re still happy that she did.
Janine Tugonon – I was shocked by her runner-up placement because I honestly do not remember a thing about her – or maybe I wasn’t really aware of her during the pre-pageant activities. Was the question given to her about the relevance of winning a beauty pageant at this time of chaos –it’s not the exact question but it’s something of this sort. Well, she didn’t exactly win a crown so I think it’s fair enough.
MJ Lastimosa – I was so disappointed that she didn’t win the Best In Swimsuit category. I really thought that it was already locked for her. She didn’t give a bad answer during the question and answer portion and her articulation was a-okay but I didn’t feel any confidence from her. She should try next year. Please MJ!

Charo Ronquillo, Charlene Almarvez and Danica Magpantay worked together for the very first time on the exclusive preview by Levi’s for their Fall / Winter Collection as reported by ABS-CBN News. The three are all alums of Ford’s Supermodel Of The World placing 2nd, 1st and winning the title respectively. The three also share the same agency in Manila, Cal-Carries which is the premiere modelling agency in the Philippines.
Danica Magpantay, reigning Ford Supermodel Of The World
2009 Ford Supermodel Of The World, 1st Runner-up
Charo Ronquillo, 2005 Ford Supermodel Of The World 2nd runner-upRonquillo said that she was surprised to hear that they all got the job when they met on the same call time as there are only 24 models chosen for the show.
While Levi’s publicist Melissa Ladines mentioned that they want models from different ethnicities so they would have a lot of representation.
The achievement of these three is a proof that Filipino Models are very much in demand as their Asian counterparts and makes it easier for other Filipino models to follow their footsteps.
Goodluck girls!

Mila Kunis was snub from the supporting role category but we can’t do that to sweet lips. In this soft lavender Elie Saab gown with matching diamond earrings and bangles, we’re declaring her the Ultimate Best Dressed of the night. Sorry, Natalie!
Amy Adams wearing a L’Wren gown with bright green jewels looking magnificent as ever! Who doesn’t love her??!
Melissa Leo so deserved to be part of this list in this custom-made Marc Bouwer gown. Wearing this plus an Oscar! Are you going to ask for more??
Jennifer Lawrence sure knows how to work the red carpet. Consistency is the key, this time she’s wearing something from Calvin Klein gown collection matching it with smokey eye make up and a glittery clutch! She’s a STAR!
Mandy Moore used to be this spiteful teeny bopper who’s singing some lousy tween songs. This time, she’s a celebrity Goddess with this nude Monique Lhuillier gown with a pair of retro earrings!
Oh, don’t fret Natalie Portman’s fans. She won the Oscar and yes, we are also awarding her as one of the best dressed with this off-shouldered Rodarte Gown. Let’s now have a prayer circle anti-Oscar curse!!!
After her Best Supporting Actress win in 2009, Jennifer Hudson transformed from a B-List to an A-list in the red carpet with the help of this Versace gown!
Michelle Williams will always have a special part in our heart. Although she sometimes reminds us of Carey Mulligan with that bob,she definitely knows how to dress the part of an Oscar-nominated actress sporting this beautiful Chanel gown.
Cate Blanchett – We’ve seen this gown from the Givenchy Couture Collection and we’re excited to see it being worn by the amazing Cate Blanchett — she look marvelous!

Helena Bonham Carter is wearing a creation from costume designer Colleen Atwood. We love her originality but that’s just it. That dress is a costume!

Madrid, Tuesday February 22
Jennifer Aniston showed up in the Madrid premiere of her new flick with Adam Sandler, Just Go With It sporting a new sexy bob. Just the day before in Berlin, Jennifer’s hair was still that long dark blonde wearing a Nina Ricci one shouldered pleated and chiffon dress – – it makes us wonder how she do it. She’s always a sight to behold!
