The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 8 Recap – Judges’ House – Groups Category #XFactor

Irish brothers Sean and Conor Price upon finding out they made it through the live shows!

Simon reunited with former X Factor judge Cheryl to help him choose who will make it through the live shows.

1. Lemonade – Praise You By Hannah Grace

This is a vocally impressive performane but if I’m being honest, they’re not that memorable.

2. New Girl Band – Misbehaving by Labrinth

They’re just too many in the group. Remember X Factor US’ In1oSity? Ugh. No. Just no. And just to keep it real, they won’t even lasts as a group even if they make it through the live shows.

3. Jack & Joel – Get The Party Started by Pink / Get Ur Freak On by Missy Elliot / Original rap.

Oxford Uni’ duo are wonderful but upon reflection, they just don’t gel at all. They’re two totally different artists who ought to go solo IMO. This performance was good but it’s forgettable.

4. Rak-Su

This performance is just so 90’s, so dated. Uhm, No. They’re all eye fucking Cheryl.

5. Sean & Conor Price – What About Us by Pink

I absolutely loved these two and I still believe that they’re the act with the most potential to win . This performance is one of the best if I may just say.

6. The CutKelvins – Havana by Camilla Cabello

These siblings has got everything going for them. They look like regular popstars already. The girl sings really well and her two bros are total eyecandy backups. They’re “Top of the Pops” & TRL perfection!

The Top 3 Acts who made it through the live shows are : Sean & Conor, The Cutkelvins, Rak-Su

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 8 Recap – Judges’ House – Overs Category #XFactor

Nicole had Stormzy to help her decide which three of the six acts will move on to the Live Shows.

1. Tracyleanne Jefford – You’ll Lose A Good Thing by Barbara Lynn (OST Hairspray)

I just loved her personality! She reminds me so much of Rebecca Ferguson but with more personality. As for her performance, I find it a bit off because her voice came out way too raspy unlike her other performances.

2. Talia Dean – Do You Really Want To Hurt Me? by Culture Club

I loved her song choice but let’s be real here. She’s the weakest singer in her category.

3. Matt Linnen – Everybody’s Free by Rozalla

Ugh. Too sexy. And that Rozalla’s song is total perfection for his voice! What a really great song choice! But he’s really awkward without his guitar yeah? He’s still my winner from this group and in my top 2 along with Sean & Connor Price.

4. Slavko Kalezic – On The Floor by Jennifer Lopez

Feisty! Crazy! Werk it! Slavko fucking killed his performance. I don’t think it’s enough to merit him a ticket to the live show but he’s so freaking entertaining.

5. Berget Lewis – Clarity by Zedd feat Foxes.

Poor Berget was a disaster! She was too emotional and I think she was pressured to deliver. Unfortunately, this was the most crucial stage pre-live shows and she disappoint big time.

6. Kevin Davy White – Puzzle of My Heart (Original)

Don’t you just love his accent? His original is really beautiful and he gave a really beautiful performance. Gosh, those vocals are so on point!

The Top 3 Acts who made it through the live shows are: Matt Linnen, Kevin Davy White, Tracyleanne Jefford

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 8 Recap – Judges’ House – Boys’ Category #XFactor

I’m not worried about Louis’ category. After the weekend, I am fairly sure that they are the weakest category. Ugh. I have to apologize to the girls because I keep on yapping on how they are the weakest prior to the judges’ house episodes. The super cute Mika helped Louis picked his top 3!

Aidan Martin – One Last Time by Ariana Grande

He’s a really good singer but he’s a bit dated for me. Not sure about the guy.

Sam Black – Hard To Handle by Otis Redding

I still believe it’s unfair for him to go through this stage without battling it out in the Six Chair Challenge. Ugh. And no, I didn’t like his performance here. I was cringing watching it.

Leon Mallett – Dreams by Gabrielle

What the hell is Leon thinking choosing this song? No, just no.

Jack Mason – Clown by Emeli Sandes

I absolutely loved Jack’s song choice and he sounds absolutely divine! Let’s be honest, they chose the other guys because of their looks. Ugh. Louis!

Spencer Sutherland – Wasted Time (Original)

Spencer is full sex appeal. Just pure sex appeal. I do think he’s the strongest in this category.

Lloyd Macey – How Far I’ll Go by Auli’i Cravalho

What a clever choice! I loved this song from Moana and this just fit Lloyd’s voice perfectly!!!

Louis’ Top 3 Boys are: Lloyd, Sam and Spencer!

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 8 Recap – Judges’ House – Girls Category #XFactor

Sharon got the help of her children Jack and Kelly to decide on who will make the live shows!

Holly Tandy – Russian Roulette by Rihanna

This is absolutely delightful to watch! She really gave it her all didn’t she? Rihanna would’ve been proud!

Rai-Elle Williams – Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye

This is a terrible song for her IMO. Loved her rap but the song just didn’t do her voice justice!

Alisah Bonaobra – Lay Me Down by Sam Smith

I think this is Alisah’s bext performance to date. She’s singing the song just right and it was not her usual oversinging!

Grace Davies – Mora Than You (Original)

This is very risky and she’s obviosly an amazing song writer but I honestly didn’t connect with the song. I agree with Sharon, she’s so on point on criticizing Grace’s too emotional singing. So glad she stopped her. I finally get to understand what she’s singing.

Georgina Panton aka GG. – In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins

She’s a really strong singer but I just don’t like this song choice. Ugh.

Deanna Mussington – Dive by Ed Sheeran

This Anguilian beauty is amazing but she’s just not ready IMO.

And the Top 3 who made it through the live shows are:

Grace, Holly and Rai-Elle. I am surprised by Rai-Elle’s inclusion. I thought she was the weakest in this category.

Sam Black is Anthony Russell’s Replacement on the X Factor!

Despite failing to advance to the Six Chair Challenge,  Sam Black is apparently getting another chance after it was revealed last night that he will be replacing season favorite Anthony Russell after the latter’s  removal from the show following “drug” revelations.

Sam Black made an impression during the audition singing his own rendition of Rounaround Sue getting four yeses from the judges.

During bootcamp, he failed to impress and even proposed to his long time girlfriend and the mother of his kid.

On why Louis decided to asks Sam back – ‘Sam had a great reaction from the British public when his audition aired. So I re-watched it and realised we missed a trick not putting him through at Boot Camp.’

Some netizens are questioning the decision especially after one of the favorites Benji Matthews didn’t get a final seat in the Six Chair Challenge.

Do you think it’s fair for Sam to come back to the show?

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 7 Recap – Boys’ Six Chair Challenge

The boys! The boys, the boys, the boys! I initially thought that this was the strongest category this year what with Anthony Russell, Aidan Martin and Jack Mason leading the pack but after seeing all of their performances from the Bootcamp up to the Six Chair Challenge, I figured that they’re just slightly better than the Girls category whom I considered the weakest this year. At this stage, the winner for me will probably be coming from either the Overs or the Groups category. Anyway, here are the performances of the boys who made it through the judges house hoping to make it to the live shows. Such a shame really because front-runner Anthony Russell was booted even before reaching the judges’ house. You will see at the end of this post the ‘boy’ Louis decided to bring back which is really baffling to be honest.

Leon Mallet – I really thought that Alex is much better than him but truth be told, I’m still baffled why he made it over Benji Matthews. Seriously…

Singing a judge’s song is a big risk but I thought Spencer delivered real well with his oversinging (yes Louis, I’ve to agree with you) of the Pussycat Dolls’ Dont Cha. It was a very smart choice and I think his main purpose is to display his vocals which I thought is one of the best of the night.

I just find him overly dramatic. He sang a very heartfelt original song called Punchline and secured his seat from Nicole! Uhm…

I absolutely loved his song choice! He’s probably the best in the boys category now that Anthony is out of the competition. It was a very well deserved seat!

He’s okay I guess but he’s just gonna be a filler in the competition.

Anthony’s last performance…

Here’s the super likable Benjie Matthews singing an original! I’m fucking gutted that he didn’t get a seat!!!

You see, Anthony was booted out and guess who they asked to comeback??? None other than SAM BLACK. I mean, cmon! He’s not even in the Six Chair Challenge!!!!

What the fuck???!!!

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 7 Recap – Overs’ Six Chair Challenge

The Overs are always the least favorite of the judges to mentor despite three previous winners were from this category. This year, they are one of the strongest in my opinion with Matt Linnen and Berget Lewis leading the pack.

Matt Linnen is my top choice for the overs and my overall-second pick to win this season. He’s got everything going for him. He’s very good looking, has that raspy sexy voice and definitely has the X-factor. This isn’t his best performance because he looks awkward without a guitar and the way he’s flapping his hands and engaging the audience was a bit cringy but Nicole knows that he is her best chance to win the season.

Holland native Berget is arguably the best vocalist in the competition and without question, her seat is the most deserved. Don’t hate on me, I love Berget but I just don’t think she has a chance of winning this if I’m being honest.

After being ousted in favor of Loverine from the Philippines, the audience’ clamor to bring her back created an awkward moment for Nicole where she basically asked Loverine to give the seat back to her. I honestly don’t see Talia’s appeal. I’m sure she’s a nice girl but she’s one of the weakest singers in the competition in my opinion.

Tracy Leanne Jefford
I just loved her. Her voice kind of reminds me of Amy Winehouse transported back in time which is basically what Amy Winehouse is all about. She’s also inspiring like just what Nicole has mentioned.

French crooner Kevin Davy White is a really good vocalist but I still can’t figure out why I’m not getting his music – yet. He’s likable enough but he’s kind of boring.

Slavo Kalezic from Montenegro was the big upset of the night. I mean, I dont’ understand why he’s there in the first place.

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 7 Recap – Groups’ Six Chair Challenge

Simon is mentoring the Groups category this year and they are probably the strongest category in the competition. Do we have a winner in this batch?

One of the hippest group this year are The Cutkelvins siblings! They’re not the best singer in the competition but they are very, very current and they’re all so fucking beautiful!

Jack & Joel got me feeling all so nervous for them! I loved these guys and really glad they did a cover of Bang, Bang which is absolutely much better than their first song!

Rak-Su are an awesome group vocally but I seriously don’t see them getting a chance to advance into the live show.

Lemonade are amazing as a group but really, someone needs to be their leader… plus, they’re not memorable at all.

New Girl Band – Ekkk…not sure if there’ll be another Little Mix or Fifth Harmony because I just don’t get them because I thought they’re just too much alike and they are like in the group LOL. Apparently, Simon really loves them. And may I add how I loved Jack & Joel’s reaction towards them while they were performing! LOL

Sean & Connor Price – they’re still the frontrunner for me in this category. Again, they’re not the best singer but I can already see them doing concerts! They’re just very charismatic!

Overall, the top 6 are a great choice! The top 3 I will put into the live shows are The Cutkelvins, Sean & Connor Price and Jack & Joel.

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 6 Recap – Girls’ Six Chair Challenge

Last Saturday was just a continuation of the Bootcamp challenge where the hopefuls sang individually in front of the judges and a live audience.  Early favorites like Grace Davies, Tracyleanne Jefford, Daniel Quick and bruiser Anthony Russell (such a shame he was kicked off the show) all gave stunning performances!

Then Sunday comes the Six Chair Challenge for the girls. I am now starting to doubt this category. I initially thought that this was the strongest category this year but I’ve a feeling that Grace Davies will be the last girl standing from this group and I’ve a feeling that she won’t even make the top 5. It’s a good thing that she’s so good she might just end up with a recording contract from Simon.

She’s obviously the strongest in this category performing her own song called “Don’t Go.”

She’s got the making of Adele isn’t she?

The beautiful Holly Tandy will also be going through the judges house for her performance.

Not really sold on this performance but she’s like the Britain’s Sweetheart… She’s definitely the Janet Devlin of this season.

Georgina Panton is amazing as usual but sadly for her, she’s not getting any traction from the audience as far as I can see…

Deanna Mussington is very likable but I’m not sure if she’s at the level of Grace to even make the live show.

Youngster Rai-Elle Rai-Elle Williams had to fight for her chair when she was forced to have a sing-off with Alisah Bonaobra and  Scarlett Lee. She sang a song about Jesus and promptly made it. I thought she should’ve been eliminated if I’m being honest.

And last but not the least is Alisah from the Philippines. I am all for giving my support to my home girl Alisah but truth be told, I just don’t think that the judges like her especially Simon and Sharon. Unfortunately, she’s under Sharon’s category so I’ve a feeling that she won’t make the live show. Oh well…

My Top 3: Grace, Holly and Georgina obviously.

Who do you think will make it to the live show?

The X Factor UK 2017 – Week 5 Recap – My ‘Bootcamp’ Favorites!

It’s taken me half the week to finally have time to watch each performance and I’ve to say that I am more than impressed with the talent that went through last week and will be battling it out on next episode’s Six Chair Challenge.

The first stage of the bootcamp was The Wall of Songs were 35 songs are offered for those who made it through the audition round and will sing it as a group in front of the panel. Most of the performances were cringe-worthy if I’m being honest.

And like what Simon said which I wholeheartedly agree with, Grace Davies group who sang Say You Won’t Let Go by James Arthur was one of the better groups –  if not the only decent one.

My Four Potential Winners

1. Matt Linnen is definitely leading the pack this season. He’s very good looking and has a really good vocals – not very current but marktable enough. He’s like the better and hotter version of Matt Cardle.

2. Sean and Connor Price – if there is one act that could potentially derails Matt’s winning the title, then it could be them. They are very charismatic and very current and has decent voices. Plus, we need to have a new pop group/duo sensation to top the charts worldwide and I really, really believe they could do it.

3. Holly Tandy is a surprise for me. I didn’t think she could pull off Sign of the Time by Harry Styles. She’s my favorite amongst the girls this season.

4. Berget Lewis is again, flawless. I’m just not sure right now how relatable she is with the audience.

The rest are just so-so for me. The CutKelvins and Grace Davies didn’t really And I am not even going to mention Alisa Bonaobra begging for a second chance. I mean, she’s a good singer but I find it unfair for the other girls who weren’t given another chance only because they didn’t beg and cry on stage. It was really awkward to watch.

One of my early favorites, Anthony Russell made it through the first round but had to withdraw since he admitted that he was on drugs during the audition. He was apparently asked to leave and come back next year, clean. I’m hoping he’d come back tho.

Who are your favorites this year?
