The supposed 2014 edition of the Miss Universe pageant will be held on January 25 of next year at the U.S. Century Bank Arena in Doral, Miami, Floria and every pageant fans and pundits are totally bubbling up with excitement!

Philippine delegate Mary Jean Lastimosa (who waited for almost a year and is the last 2014 Binibining Pilipinas queen to be fielded internationally) is also gearing up in the hopes of winning the third Miss Universe crown for the Philippines. It’s been a good 41 years since the Philippines won the crown when Margarita Moran won in Greece – just three years after Gloria Diaz won the 1969 edition.

Most recently, the Philippines have consistently placed in the Top 5 from the last four years where Janine Tugonon almost snatched the crown in 2012 from eventual winner Olivia Culpo of the USA.

And I’ve a feeling that the 63rd edition of the pageant in January will be a battle royale of beauty, poise and wits! I’m also getting a good feeling for MJ! She just look extremely ravishing!!!

Valerie During The Miss World Charity Gala NightGreat news to all Pinoy pageant fans because Valerie made the top 10 at the Beauty With A Purpose segment of the Miss World 2014 where each contestant presents their BWAP project and the organization chooses the 10 most impressive projects amongst the delegates. BWAP is one of the highest determining factors of making the cut. The winner will be announce during the finals on December 14.

Along with Miss Philippine Valerie Weigmann, delegates from the following country also made the cut: Kenya, Guyana, India, Indonesia, Brazil, Bolivia, South Africa, Netherlands and England.

Congratulations are in order for the newly crowned Miss Earth 2014! The host delegate and the ultimate earth warrior Jamie Herrel of the Philippines was adjudged the fairest last night at the UP Diliman Theather in Quezon City amongst 85 earth warriors across the globe vying for the crown won last year by Alyz Henrich of Venezuela.

I won’t even give much thought about the grousing calls from other netizens about home court advantage and such because things like winning in your home turf happens all the time and since Jamie clearly made an impressive show last night, I won’t take the credit from the girl!

Just recently, Miss Universe Philippines 2014 Mary Jean Lastimosa donned a Leo Almodal number in a photoshoot posted via Almodal’s instagram which garnered tremendous positive feedbacks from pageants fans netizens who are all hoping for Lastimosa to do well in the upcoming Miss Universe pageant in Miami January of next year. The fiery evening gown silhouetted Lastimosa’s enviable figure and accented her beautiful bone structure.

Lastimosa is considered a favorite for the crown this early on and a lot of Filipino pageant pundits are hoping that she’d actually be donning a Filipino designer-made ensemble come Miss Universe season. And personally, her dress and styling here spells WINNER. Well, hope springs eternal guys… let’s just really hope for the best O_o

Who’s Your Winner Of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 21?

Four models remains in the hopes of winning America’s Next Top Model – Cycle 21. Who’s it going to be this time? At last week’s episode, Lenox Tillman almost got the boot when she was pitted in the bottom two over fellow season’s favorite Shei Phan but managed to join the three guys in the finale becoming the last girl standing. Adam Smith snagged the first call out with Keith Carlos and Will Jardell getting the second and third call-outs respectively. Will Lenox be able to make her presence felt over the testosterone-filled two part finale next week? IMO, Lenox is the strongest model amongst the four and she kinda reminds me of Cycle 16 winner Brittany Kline in terms of modeling but I’ve a feeling that a guy will be on top this season – I love Will but my gut feel tells me that it’s either Adam or Keith who’s going to take the top plum. That’s just for me though, but do tell me who you think will win the title of America’s Next Top Model O_o

Miss World 2014 ProfileMiss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann left for London last November 20 to compete for this year’s edition of Miss World where fellow Filipina Megan Young is the current title holder. Valerie knows that there’s pressure for her to continue the winning streak of the country in the said pageant and it looks like she’s up for the challenge to make it a back-to-back win for the Philippines.

So here’s what she is up to so far in London – the host city this year and also the home base of the Miss World Organization.

Yvethe Santiago’s Back-To-Back Campaign For The Miss Supranational 2014 Crown!

Last Sunday saw the arrival of the Philippines’ rep Yvethe Marie Santiago into this year’s edition of Miss Supranational in Krynica-Zdroj, Poland. The Bicolandia beauty and reigning Binibining Pilipinas Supranational is set to start her campaign for a back-to-back win after fellow Binibini and Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Johanna Datul snagged the crown last year during the fifth edition of the pageant.

Santiago, a favorite to win since the start of the Binibining Pilipinas season is confident that she’ll do well in the pageant having trained by former Binibining Pilipinas winners and getting the encouragement from Mutya Datul herself.

Here she is a week before her departure to Poland telling ANC’s Headstart her preparations and expectations for the upcoming pageant.

I’m sure Yvethe will do her best to represent the country but she’ll also need our support to carry through her campaign of winning it back #forthePhilippines.

Miss Supranational 2014 finals will be held in Krynica-Zdroj, Poland on December 5th.

John Spainhour is Mister World Philippines 2014!

pic_2Filipino-American John Spainhour, a model and a former US marine scout sniper was chosen to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Mister World 2014 that will be held in Torbay, United Kingdom. The announcement was made last May 29 at the Glorietta 5 Atrium by Ms. Cory Quirino who’s heading the so-far very successful campaigns of both Miss World and Mister World Philippines since 2011.

26 year old John was born in South Carolina, USA, growing up in Manila, Philippines. Describing himself as “Disciplined, hardworking and dedicated” John is a former Marine Corp Scout Sniper. Since finishing his service, he has worked as a fashion model, and is looking for new opportunities and adventures to pursue. In his spare time he likes to be in the outdoors, going camping, snowboarding and hiking. He is also a scuba diver and likes to play video games. via MrWorldTV

pic_1Now this is good news for pageant pundits and fans because we now have a very capable candidate to hopefully succeed the current Mister World Francisco Escobar of Colombia. If you still remember, Andrew Wolff almost bagged the crown from Escobar in 2012 placing as 1st runner-up. With John’s military training and modeling experience, it should be easy for him to do the physically tasking challenges required in the pageant and at the same time pull that charm that will hopefully win him the title. Good luck John!! Make the country proud!

During the event, it was also announced that Fil-Persian model Sam Adjani will be the country’s representative for the 2015 edition of the pageant! Why! Such good choices from Miss Cory!!
