Her beauty, eloquence and bubbly personality are the three factors that would make our very own Megan Young the perfect Miss World! After Mutya Datul conquered Belarus last night, I think a back to back international crowning for the Philippines isn’t that far behind with Megan campaigning for the first blue crown in Indonesia. Ya’ll agree with me? 🙂

Today was bright and shiny so I wanted to showcase that through my outfit #OOTD! Sometimes I like matching my outfits with my mood. Today was all about positive vibes! We didn’t do much but they asked a group of girls to re-do their talent for round 2 of auditions. I hope I get into the next round of auditions

Today was our last day at the Pan Pacific hotel and it ended with a bang. We had dinner while watching the sunset! It really is awesome meeting so many girls from around the world. And speaking of world, I met Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu! I went all fangirl and asked if I could take a picture with her. As they say in filipino, “kinilig ako” (I got giddy) when I had my picture taken with her.  Miss France is just so gorgeous! I love talking to Miss Singapore because she reminds me of Zee, the second princess in Miss World Philippines. Miss Dominican Republic is from New York and I love how fierce she is. I am so in awe with Miss South Sudan and Miss Ghana because they are so beautiful and sophisticated. – Megan

First day in Bali, Indonesia and it is just AMAZING! We did so much today already. We shot our profile videos, had auditions for Dances of the World and Talent Competition as well and ate LOTS of yummy food. I feel like I’m at home because the food here in Indonesia is similar to the food in the Philippines. Anyways, I just wanted to make my first post an #OOTD or “outfit of the day” picture. I’m wearing an Eric Delos Santos jumpsuit with Janina by Jul Dizon earrings. I wanted to keep my first outfit fresh and funky since we’re in Bali. I’m very, very excited for the coming days! – Megan

Meet The Contestants Of Philippines’ Next Top Model Cycle 1 (Rewind)

Since I love watching a few Next Top Model series (esp Australia, the US and Asia), I thought of posting The Philippines’ very own  version of the hit reality modeling competition. The first Philippines’ Next Top Model first aired in 2007 broadcasted by the now defunct RPN 9. It was hosted by Ruffa Guttierez and the judges includes Wilma Doesn’t, Pauline Sauco-Juan, Robby Carmona, Vince Uy and Xander Angeles. The winner of this cycle “won” a modeling representation with Starz People Hong Kong, an editorial fashion spread in Preview Magazine, US$10,000  c/o Mane and TailShampoo, a P150,000 modeling contract with SAGA Events, a one-year local endorsement campaign from L’Oreal Paris, one-year complimentary treatments from Marie France and Facial Care Center and a south sea pearl necklace  from Jewelmer, and the title “Jewelmer’s Amabassador to the World.” – that’s a whole lot of prize to be honest! Of course, we already know the winner of this so far “only” cycle of Philippines’ Next Top Model but won’t it be great to take a glimpse again of the photo shoots  our own version had? After all the brouhaha, the celebrity and super-goddess Megan Young representing the city of Olongapo was proclaimed the winner of Miss World Philippines 2013 tonight at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino! Megan beat out 24 other candidates for the right to represent the country in Indonesia next month for the annual beauty with a purpose pageant and the oldest for that matter, the Miss World 2013! Megan may not be successful in joining the Binibining Pilipinas this year but it was written in the stars for her to represent the Philippines in an international pageant arena – hopefully to win the first blue crown for us!

Megan Young Is My Miss World Philippines 2013!

It would be the biggest upset of the night if Megan will not get the crown of the Miss World Philippines this coming Sunday. Megan, touted to be the one with the complete package will compete against 24 other candidates for the chance to represent the country this September in the Miss World pageant to be held in Indonesia. Like what I mentioned on my first hot picks, if there’ll be no politics in choosing this year’s winner – hands down, Megan’s in it to win it!

The caliber of Miss Young is similar to those candidates hailing from the Latin pageant powerhouse like Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Mexico. Her communication skills is superb, she has an international appeal that would cater to anyone and her charm and confidence could win any judges’ approval.

Bianca2. Bianca Paz – I would give her the second best position because I feel that Bianca has been preparing for this ever since she won the runner-up position to Gwendolyn Ruais last 2011 during the first Miss World Philippines edition. It’s not a very lucky year for her because of Megan competing at the same time. It could’ve been a totally different ball game had she join last year or next year if she’s still eligible to do so.

Patricia 3. Patricia Ejercitado – this pageant veteran and Janine Tugonon’s batchmate during the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 is an adorable belle that won’t also be ignored by the judges. She looks fresh and more confident this time around and I can definitely see her winning one of the runners-up posts! Good luck Pat!

KC4.  Henna Kaizelle Nicole “KC” Cajandig  has proven her rights to be in the pageant. She became a filler in this year’s Binibining Pilipinas Gold edition after initially not making it into the final 50 and because of the disqualification of Maria Theresa Fenger but she bounced back from it, gained the experience from Binibini and is now the new candidate #1. KC is pretty, fresh and very much adorable…the camera loves here so I’m betting that the judges would love her as well come pageant night.

Janicel5. Janicel Lubina – This girl has got the beauty, the body and the X Factor that any beauty pageant would appreciate. It’s just too bad that, IMO she’s still a wee bit young and may not have the wisdom to carry her to the next level. Beauty-wise, she could compete internationally but she would have to hone her communication skills more. This girl is made for Miss Universe so crowning her or even the rumors spreading of Pre-selecting her as this year’s winner would be a big mistake! Let the girl gain some experience from this and have her join the Miss Universe Philippines pageant in a year or two!
