Megan Young Was Denied To Screen For The Binibining Pilipinas 2013?

I was just about to go to sleep when I got a tweet suggesting that Megan Young might have been turned down by the Binibining Pilipinas Organization for their 50th annual beauty pageant. I immediately checked the Missosology pageant site for confirmation. While there’s no official word from Megan herself, the tweets from her handler Jonas Gaffud and a close associate strongly imply that Megan didn’t pass the screening process; in fact, she didn’t even get the opportunity to screen at all.

Megan has been a heavy favorite of many pageant fans since last year, and this year, she was supposedly training very hard for the pageant, but alas, the stars and the whole universe are against her.

Apparently, there was an “emergency screening” that happened yesterday afternoon, and this is one of the results of that sad day.

The organization’s view of these types of things is so outdated! Many aspirants worldwide were allowed to compete in their national pageant (some even posing nude), and Megan’s shot is for a fashion magazine, for jeez sake! It irks me that they are being so uptight about this. When will they stop wasting beautiful modern Filipinas?

I am now hoping that Megan will join the rival pageant of Binibini, The Miss World Philippines, and aim to get the first blue crown for the Philippines! Madame Stella’s loss is Cory Quirino’s gain!

For the record, the report about her disqualification hasn’t been 100% confirmed yet. I’m still hoping for Megan to be allowed to join and give the candidates this year a run for their money and high heels!

Thank You Queenie Rehman!

The 62nd edition of the Miss World beauty pageant concluded last August 18 when Yun Wenxia bagged the second blue crown for China. 116 girls competed for the coveted crown and one of them is our very own Queenierich Rehman who advanced in the semifinals. I was a bit disappointed though when she didn’t make the final top 7 but I’m still very proud of what she have accomplished because she represented the Philippines with pride and honor. It was just upsetting that she didn’t win the Talent Competition when she has the most impressive presentation. I’m not going to say any negative comments about the pageant because I’m tired of reading a lot of it on different websites. I just want to take this opportunity to thank Miss Rehman for repping us like a boss during the pageant. Even if you didn’t win the crown, you made us all proud Queenie and I think that’s more important than winning – gaining the respect and admiration of everyone! Kudos to you girl for bringin’ it on! luv ya!

Is Queenerich Rehman The One?

In less than 24 hours, a new queen will be hailed as the most beautiful woman in the world, as Ivian Sarcos of Venezuela passes on the blue crown to the new Miss World during tomorrow’s pageant night in Ordos, Mongolia. A total of 116 girls will be competing for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the pageant’s history

After the impressive runner-up finish of Gwendoline Ruais last year, the Miss World-Philippines organization selected Queenerich Rehman to represent our country in Mongolia. Over the past month leading up to tomorrow’s finals, Rehman’s journey has been impressive, and she is predicted to match or even surpass Gwendoline’s title in 2011. Will she be the first Filipina to win the blue crown for the Philippines?

Here’s wishing Queenerich success on her journey to conquer the world! Go get it, girl!

Miss World-Philippines 2011

Just late last year, it was announced that the Binibining Pilipinas (Miss Philippines) lost the Miss World franchise to TV and Radio personality Cory Quirino who will now be heading the search for the Miss World-Philippines to represent the country in London for the Miss World 2011 that will be held sometime in November.

This was a very exciting news as Philippine pageant aficionados would buzz like crazy about this new national pageant that is said to be held sometime in September, a short three months before the international pageant. Also, we’ll get to see how this pageant would be different from it’s ex-franchise holder.

Miss World 2010 – Alexandria Mills of USA

Miss World Chairman, Julia Morley

We also gathered reports that Miss World Chairman Julia Morley and reigning Miss World Alexandria Mills of the United States will be visiting the country next week for the contract signing of the franchise agreement and some charity visits. This would be part of Miss Mills’ first international visit to the Asia Pacific countries including Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. So watch out for Miss Morley and the Miss World 2010 visit our beautiful country!
