In another stunning display of culture and creativity, the 40 candidates of this year’s Binibining Pilipinas took to the runway in their national costumes, each one showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of the Philippines. These ten, in my opinion, stood out as the best among the designs created by 40 incredibly talented Filipino designers.

Eight girls remains with the competition getting in the nerves of most of the girls. Who’s that one girl who will keep her cool and rise on top this episode?
So far, three girls are getting consistent remarks from the judges for “always bringing it” in every shoot. Marie for one is having an impressive run with the most FCO’s this series thus far, followed by Nicole and Josephine whose pictures are getting rave reviews! Are the judges setting them up to be the finals three?
The challenge winner this episode was Tia (her second this cycle) winning a lunch date with no less than THE Jimmy Choo and they had their photoshoot at the beautiful and luxurious Pangkor Laut resort with Chiun-Kai Shih as their photographer. (which somehow reminds me of the first cycle’s French Riviera‘s episode) The panel was joined by Andrea Fonseka, a former Miss Malaysia.

I love how Jodilly’s using her body here but her facial expression seemed disconnected somehow. I still like it though.
Josephine
JoJo is back! A very strong shot from the most consistent girl this season! I love how she’s using her whole body to get a great shot!
Katarina
Whilst I’m not a fan of this shot, I thought her profile looks absolutely divine! You cannot deny a beauty like Katarina. She’d do really well in beauty campaigns!
Marie
Well, what can I say? Marie’s totally bringing it! This shot is so dynamic and so powerful I could totally see it in any fashion magazine! Well done girl!
Natalie
I really love this shot of Natalie. Unlike Marie, this shot does not require ferocity but softness and some intensity in the eyes. I see softness but not intensity! Still a great shot though!
Nicole
Now, this has got to be Nicole’s worst photo to date. Her body look distorted and her face is unrecognizable. It’s fierce all right but I feel that it’s a bit forced.
Sheena
Mighty Sheena is back! Thank you girl for bringing back the old you! This is smashing and you look like a tree nymph here! This is my favorite shot from the bunch! Amazing!
Tia
Being the shortest in the bunch, she really does look short here and her profile isn’t really that good. It’s time to pack your bag girl, it was a great run though.

So here I am again with my Top 10 collections from the Philippine Fashion Week Spring Summer 2014. These are my ten favorites from the herds of talented Filipino fashion designers who showcased their genius in the recently concluded fashion week.
Perhaps, my favorite local clothing brand!
The best thing about Penshoppe is that they follow the trend and they set it at the same time. Penshoppe’s my number one choice amongst the local clothing brand because they have sleek yet very hip designs that not only cater to a certain demographic but serves to just about anyone. This season, they certainly delivered to a whole new level.
9. M Barretto
After a sleek Holiday collection, here we see a preppy one that burst with colors you’d love to see in your man’s garbs. M Barretto created a phylum of pieces that shares the same appeal that’s so NOW.
8. Raoul Ramirez
This is elegance at its finest. Raoul Ramirez use of chiffon and lace materials collates the whole vibe of a resounding luxury that speaks volume about his collection.
7. Yako Reyes
His maxi flowy dresses are just to die for and its muted color made ’em like the most expensive dress to ever walk them runways this season!
6. Arnold Galang
Who will not be impress with Arnold’s artistic take on his collection. Amongst the collections this season, his has got to be the chic-est ever!
5. Chris Jasler
The creativity of Chris Jasler is at a different dimension when he created his pieces. There was mystery, there was darkness and there was beauty. Cmon’ it isn’t fair that he’s that good!
4. Ulysses King
It’s no secret that I’m an avid fan of Ulysses King. The man’s a genius for jeez sake! Here, we see his signature prints and colors. It looks almost the same from his collection two seasons ago but it’s still different. That my friends is how you innovate fashion.
3. Philipp Tampus
There’s something magical about Philipp Tampus creations this season. The Summer Safari team roars the loudest with his distinct style of combining one piece to another.
2. Norman Noriega
I am so loving the minimalist approach of Noriega here. The androgynous look of the collection adds up to his pieces’ overall feel of a rather relax and laid back summer.
and my most favorite collection this season goes to…
1. Jun Jun Cambe
Jun Jun Cambe’s attack on each piece are a work of a true artist. The combo of black, white and multicolored pieces are synonymous to a signature classic look. This is Jun Jun Cambe at his best!
