I’m first to admit that I’m not really a big fan of mystery novels but I do enjoy reading one every now and then. Though I was not entirely sold on the dynamic of this story, I actually liked the couple here. Both are charming and they’ve a great chemistry. I was able to guess the culprit prior to the big reveal and I guess that’s what made me a bit disappointed with the way things panned out with the murder [ala Detective Conan-style] and the route of J.X. and Kit’s relationship. I was maybe looking for more and asking for less suspense. I don’t know, perhaps I’m just not the type to liken mystery themed novels that much. One thing I’ve to say though, even if I didn’t enjoy that much, I still think that Josh Lanyon writes incredibly well. The feel of his technique was there so I’ve to give it to him. I’ve the second and third book of this series and I’d sure scheduled them to be read sooner.
