Bailey and Caden have common friends. They cannot stand each other. After one drunken night, they found themselves in bed. That one night of sex was great and it goes on and on and on. Then Caden admitted to falling in love with Bailey. Bailey being Bailey, a control freak and all naturally freaked out and ended what they’re doing. Bailey needs to let go and Caden needs a bucket full of patience.
I actually find the set up of this story all too weird. The author showed each of Bailey and Caden’s perspective but the lack of back-story was really bothering me. There was no personal touch with these characters – they’re like just in there. I didn’t feel attachment with anyone in the story. The whole “enemies with benefits” fiasco doesn’t sit well with me. And it was too long given the thinly veiled plot. Yup, not my cup of tea.
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group’s “Love’s Landscapes” event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.
