I absolutely adore this series! There’s just something so special about this couple – Spencer and Andrew – that makes you want to give them all the love in the world.

Spencer is just freaking unbelievable! For someone who’s been bruised by his past, his countenance and outlook in life is just beyond amazing and he’s not even aware how good he is with people, how is kindness touched the people around him! What a really special guy!

Andrew on the other hand is just adorkable in so many ways! Who wouldn’t love this guy? Seriously? He’s shy, smart, sexy, sophisticated and …I’m running out of S adjectives but what I’m trying to say is that he’s all kinds of perfect! He’s Spencer’s perfect guy!

When I was reading the second book, I knew that something from Spencer’s past will finally be able to burst his happy bubble in L.A. A sad call from Sydney was all it took for him to confront some remnants of his past. It was a rather  bittersweet reunion between Spencer and a member of his family and more heartbreaking that suicide has to pave a way for them to reconnect. Ideally, I would’ve like the father to just go and offed himself but the villains in the story doesn’t always die, the same way in real life. I cried for Spencer, Archer and Lewis and the times they’ve all lost together because of his parents’ bigotry and conditional love. What a waste, really. If only Spencer could turn back time.

The story may have a bit of a sad tone but overall, there’s overflowing love in it! Their friends, family members and the guys themselves are just spreading love all throughout the story. I love stories like this because it makes me feel good and makes me believe that love will always prevail in everything. I am totally channeling Dumbledore.

And really, that epilogue just about killed me! I loved it! Such a perfect ending to a beautiful series! Thank you N.R. Walker!

N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance.
She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

She is many things; a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don’t let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.

She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things…but likes it even more when they fall in love.

She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.

Warning: This review contain some spoilers.

If you’ve not read the first Spencer Cohen book, I suggest you go directly online [ HERE ] and pick it up because this second book isn’t stand-alone and it picks up where it ended from the first book where Spencer finally accepted the strong feelings he’s developed with Andrew and they are now trying to work out their “new relationship” as a couple in this second installment.

You just gotta love them boys here! This one’s real sweet and very easy to read. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to Spencer about opening up to people especially when you’ve been burned before by someone you loved. I loved that both Spencer and Andrew  are really getting to know each other here and they ‘communicate’ like every couples should always do.

Although throughout the story, my mind’s keep wondering about Spencer’s biological family. I think that angle needs to happen in book 3 ^_^ I am thinking that maybe one of his brother will turn out to be gay as well? Or the father dying for real or something? Yes – I can be vindictive like that! LOL I cannot believe they would act like that towards Spencer – I mean, it’s totally nothing new from the stories I’ve read from other books about teens getting kicked-out when they come out to their family and sadly, in real life as well but there was no mention of religious shit and all or Spencer’s family being too conservative whatevs – I dunno, it was just odd and I am freaking mad at how his father could be that evil that he’d call the parent of Spencer’s friends (where he was temporarily staying) to warn them rendering Spencer real homeless before his aunt took over. OMFG I am so mad for Spencer!!!!! I really hope that the third book will tackle Spencer’s family.

I also felt a bit pensive when Spencer mentioned that he doesn’t have to do what he’s doing for a living because he’s got money and he just want to help people. He wanted to help out people, be a relationship fixer and all but I still don’t get why in that particular ‘business’ – it’s a rather odd profession right? Like a less ridiculous version of Millionaire’s Matchmaker or something… (and No, for those who continued reading this despite the spoiler alert – Spencer isn’t a matchmaker! Haha!)

I’ve a feeling tho that the third book will still have a client involved in the story which is not a bad idea at all but I am really hoping that the focus will be more about Spencer’s background. I want some resolution in that area but I know that whatever the author think is best for the story – it will still come out wonderful!

I cannot wait to read the next (final?) installment!!! This is becoming one of my favorite series’ from NR Walker along with Thomas Elkins and Red Dirt Heart!

First, it should be known that I am  a massive N.R. Walker fan so just simply learning that she would be releasing a new book / series makes me hella giddy because I knew beforehand that it’s gonna be freaking good. And as usual, I am right to assume that the first book of this highly anticipated Spencer Cohen series is so full of promise!

The story is about this “lumbersexual” (yep, Google it!) Aussie named Spencer Cohen whose job is to help people win their ex’s back. He’s hired to pretend as the new beau of the jilted lover and make the ex’s jealous, realized their mistake and come running back. It was going smoothly for Spencer until he took a job from Andrew who’s trying to win back his fiancé that mysteriously abandoned him. Things were going as planned when the involvement of feelings started to become a distraction to Spencer’s job. He was attracted to Andrew and it looks like the feeling is mutual but Spencer knew that this is only a job. Only, that’s what he keeps telling himself.

I was just sailing through the book – turning page after page and waiting for something really big to happen. Spencer is likable and very relatable. There’s something about him that is very fascinating and you just want to dig deeper to know more things about this enigmatic guy. Why is he living in the US? Why did he leave Australia? What’s behind the true Spencer Cohen? It makes for an exciting plot to get to know Spencer little by little as the story goes. His chemistry with Andrew was real awesome! I’d like to think that we’d get more of Andrew in the coming books – perhaps dual POV from both guys? The latter part of the book made me stop on my tracks –  I loved how the author created the build-up to that “semi” big reveal about Spencer. It was then that I realized how I under-appreciated the first half of the book. That scene on chapter nine made me changed everything I initially thought about the book! It was total genius! I don’t think I can say more without spoiling the story so may I suggest that you guys pick this up asap and be one of us who are so yearning for the second and third book to come sooner!!!!
