After the highly successful and record breaking exhibit of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty last spring, the Metropolitan Museum ‘s Costume Institute confirmed that 2012’s exhibit will feature designs by Prada and the late Elsa Schiaparelli.
Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet) will be the creative consultant for the exhibit and British actress Carey Mulligan will co-chair the Met Gala on May 7 with Miuccia Prada and American Vogue Editor, Anna Wintour.

I wish I could fly to New York now to witness the Alexander McQueen:Savage Beauty Exhibition but since I can’t – I’ll just satisfy myself with all the images from the net. EK. It sucks, really. Lee is one of my favorite designers and now that he’s gone, I feel that I need to really see this one!!!!
The Exhibit started last May and will run until August 7, 2011. If I could magically teleport or become a “Jumper,” I’d definitely go right there at this very moment! I’m not sure why the Metropolitan Museum of Art isn’t extending it to coincide with the Fashion Week. I guess I’ll just wait until I get the chance to intern with Sarah Burton – haha.
