I really didn’t get into this song until a week ago when it felt like an appropriate theme song for my current predicament at work with people being all fake and shit. I guess, I’m one of those people who loves expressing my emotions through songs lol. Anyway, my Cover Thursday is from a band called Our Last Night You with their heavy metal rendition of Taylor Swift’s comeback single “Look What You Made Me Do.” I honestly liked their version more, truth be told.
I dare you to to watch the full video. It’s fucking incredible! This was posted last March 2017 but I’ve had the “Melodrama” album by Lorde just last July and fell for this song and the rest of the album eventually. And just this weekend, I was binge-watching covers of the songs in the album and stumbled upon this again, fucking incredible cover! Click away now you bitches…
One, two
Baby really hurt me
Crying in the taxi
He don’t wanna know me
Says he made the big mistake of dancing in my storm
Says it was poison
So I guess I’ll go home
Into the arms of the girl that I love
The only love I haven’t screwed up
She’s so hard to please
But she’s a forest fire
I do my best to meet her demands
Play at romance, we slow dance
In the living room, but all that a stranger would see
Is one girl swaying alone
Stroking her cheek
They say, “You’re a little much for me
You’re a liability
You’re a little much for me”
So they pull back, make other plans
I understand, I’m a liability
Get you wild, make you leave
I’m a little much for
E-a-na-na-na, everyone
The truth is I am a toy
That people enjoy
‘Til all of the tricks don’t work anymore
And then they are bored of me
I know that it’s exciting
Running through the night, but
Every perfect summer’s
Eating me alive until you’re gone
Better on my own
They say, “You’re a little much for me
You’re a liability
You’re a little much for me”
So they pull back, make other plans
I understand, I’m a liability
Get you wild, make you leave
I’m a little much for
E-a-na-na-na, everyone
They’re gonna watch me
Disappear into the sun
You’re all gonna watch me
Disappear into the sun
In lieu of what’s been happening online [the Manny Pacquiao debacle, the Jeb Bush gun Tweet, etc ] and all the negativity and stuff – I have something here to cheer you up a little. See, I’ve been dying to post this cover of Marvin Gaye’s I Heard It Through The Grapevine by one of my favorite people online since it was posted a few days ago but I opted to wait until today since it’s my Cover Thursday!!!!!! Yay! So, the name of the artist is Romeo Crow whom I’ve featured here before!
This uber-talented Londoner also did an amazing cover of Gnarls Barkley’s Crazy(omfg! So fucking worth hearing it!!! I actually converted it to mp3 right away *wink* so good!) and one of Bill Wither’s biggest hit – Lovely Day. Ugh, Romeo! Kill Me Now!!!!!!!
Okay, so enough of my ramblings – here’s the vid below. Don’t forget to subscribe to his YouTube channel and download six of his own songs for free –
Romeo Crow is a singer, writer and producer based in Battersea area of London, spending his days either relaxing with his family or working on new songs and projects.
So for my “Cover Thursday,” I am featuring the ultra-talented Troye Sivan (swoon!) doing a cover of Justin Bieber’s most recent hit Love Yourself which as of press time is at number 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 and is comfortably enjoying its place on iTunes Charts.
Troye is currently on his second tour in support of his debut studio album, Blue Neighbourhood. This live of cover of Love Yourself was from the kick-off of said tour at the Vogue Theater in Vancouver.
Here’s a wonderful cover of Charlie Puth’s Marvin Gaye by Andy Scalise featuring Alle Bettale! The original song which features guest vocals by Meghan Trainor topped the charts in four countries and peaked at number 21 in the US Billboard Hot 100. ‘Tis one of my favorite songs from last year and I cannot wait to get a copy of Charlie Puth’s debut album called Nine Track Mind which will be out tomorrow so make sure to check it out as well!
