I have been following Shamcey’s every move closely and I’m glad that she’s showing consistency this early in the competition. I’m hoping she’ll continue this until the preliminaries up to the finals once selected as one of the semi-finalists! This photo is one of the official photoshoots that she did with Miss Universe official photographer Fadil Berisha. She’s wearing a carnival-inspired two-piece dress doing the samba!

The pageant’s ticket stated that the program will start at 7PM but it actually started at around 9PM. Thank goodness, the beautiful goddesses of this year’s competition are worth the wait. It was somewhat a very predictable night with frontrunners and favorites actually winning.
Shamcey Supsup was crowned Binibining Pilipinas – Universe which was pretty obvious for me. From the very beginning, I thought that Shamcey delivered the goods. Her body isn’t perfect but she can still transform it to a better one. The evening gown she wore was hands down one of the better designs even if she didn’t win Best in Evening Gown. It’s as if her win was already a pre-determined one.
Diane Necio however delivered a rather lackluster performance in my opinion. She was definitely the judges and crowd favorite but I thought that the likes of Arevalo, Al-Tawil and Tumulak performed better than her. I’m not taking this away from her. The girl is beautiful but she’s not the best. Congratulations, though, her color would give the Miss International a beautiful flavor come international pageant time.
Isabella Manjon wore a disaster evening gown but her stage presence overpowered that hindrance to actually win the Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism title. She has such a beautiful face and the camera really loves her. Although we didn’t expect her to actually win a crown, we’re still happy that she did.
Janine Tugonon – I was shocked by her runner-up placement because I honestly do not remember a thing about her – or maybe I wasn’t really aware of her during the pre-pageant activities. Was the question given to her about the relevance of winning a beauty pageant at this time of chaos –it’s not the exact question but it’s something of this sort. Well, she didn’t exactly win a crown so I think it’s fair enough.
MJ Lastimosa – I was so disappointed that she didn’t win the Best In Swimsuit category. I really thought that it was already locked for her. She didn’t give a bad answer during the question and answer portion and her articulation was a-okay but I didn’t feel any confidence from her. She should try next year. Please MJ!

An expected 15 semifinalist will be chosen out of the 40 Candidates for this year’s Binibining Pilipinas but I’d only be predicting whom I think have the biggest chances of landing in the Top 10 as well as our winners prior to the pageant this coming Sunday, April 10 at the Araneta Coliseum. Despite her lack of height, I strongly believe that MJ Lastimosa will captivate the judges on Sunday with her very strong stage presence, unique facial structure and that guitar-shaped body. She’s my first choice for Binibining Pilipinas-Universe. She’d definitely rock Brazil, that’s for sure.
I’m so impressed by her credentials I’m almost sure that Madam Stella Araneta would automatically give her the crown. Without question, she’s one of the strongest contestants this year. She’s got the height, the brains and that very Filipina look but I need more “landi” from her. For now, she’s my alternative to MJ.
It is a must that this ethereal beauty be crowned come Sunday. I also think that she’d do great in Brazil for Miss Universe but I still have some doubts about her capabilities to outstage Shamcey’s height and MJ’s body. I’m reserving her the Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism crown.
I’m seeing a Krista Kliener 2.0 in Queenierich and I’d like to see her get that Bb.Pilipinas-International crown as well. Being a very articulate speaker, a mestiza with a good height – she can do no wrong come Miss International.
Sabrine would’ve been perfect for a Miss World representation. The competition this year’s real tough; I’m thinking that she’d do well in Miss International but wI’d like to see her explore her options if she’s unlucky after Sunday’s event.
