Since the launch of the new BPI website, access to request an increase for your credit card is no longer an option. You would have to call their hotlines to request for one.
Metro Manila: (all areas with “02” area code) 889-10000
Domestic Toll-Free No: 1-800-188-89100 (available for PLDT)
Mobile phone and International Access: +632 889-10000
So today, I called up their hotline to request an increase and I was assisted accordingly but that is after being on hold for 11 minutes.
The following are the information the customer representative asked me in order for her to create a report about the request.
1. Credit card number.
2. Your name, date of birth, Mother’s maiden name.
She asked me how much is my desired increase and the reason behind the increase. I just told her that I will be traveling this holiday and I feel that my current limit isn’t enough since I’m mostly doing my transactions online.
She then advised me that I would need to e-mail my payslips from the last two months and a latest COE stating my monthly compensation at firstname.lastname@example.org
Once I sent the required documents, she said that there will be a minimum of 5 banking days for verification and another 5-7 days on top of the first five days for the credit card department to process it.
I’ve sent the required documents earlier and it’s the start of the waiting game today. I will update this entry if I was granted my desired request or how fast their process really is.
