Our very own Megan Young was part of the ‘Top 11″ in one of the fast track events in this year’s Miss World 2013 – the Beach Fashion aka Beach Beauty (one of the most important fast track events.) This time, they’re covered in a sarong to show respect since the pageant is in a predominantly Muslim country. Megan may not be the tallest in the bunch but she’s killing it!!!

After Mutya Datul conquered Belarus last night, I think a back to back international crowning for the Philippines isn’t that far behind with Megan campaigning for the first blue crown in Indonesia. Today was bright and shiny so I wanted to showcase that through my outfit #OOTD! Sometimes I like matching my outfits with my mood. Today was all about positive vibes! We didn’t do much but they asked a group of girls to re-do their talent for round 2 of auditions. I hope I get into the next round of auditions
Today was our last day at the Pan Pacific hotel and it ended with a bang. We had dinner while watching the sunset! It really is awesome meeting so many girls from around the world. And speaking of world, I met Miss World 2012 Wenxia Yu! I went all fangirl and asked if I could take a picture with her. As they say in filipino, “kinilig ako” (I got giddy) when I had my picture taken with her. Miss France is just so gorgeous! I love talking to Miss Singapore because she reminds me of Zee, the second princess in Miss World Philippines. Miss Dominican Republic is from New York and I love how fierce she is. I am so in awe with Miss South Sudan and Miss Ghana because they are so beautiful and sophisticated. – Megan

First day in Bali, Indonesia and it is just AMAZING! We did so much today already. We shot our profile videos, had auditions for Dances of the World and Talent Competition as well and ate LOTS of yummy food. I feel like I’m at home because the food here in Indonesia is similar to the food in the Philippines. Anyways, I just wanted to make my first post an #OOTD or “outfit of the day” picture. I’m wearing an Eric Delos Santos jumpsuit with Janina by Jul Dizon earrings. I wanted to keep my first outfit fresh and funky since we’re in Bali. I’m very, very excited for the coming days! – Megan

After all the brouhaha, the celebrity and super-goddess Megan Young representing the city of Olongapo was proclaimed the winner of Miss World Philippines 2013 tonight at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino! Megan beat out 24 other candidates for the right to represent the country in Indonesia next month for the annual beauty with a purpose pageant and the oldest for that matter, the Miss World 2013! Megan may not be successful in joining the Binibining Pilipinas this year but it was written in the stars for her to represent the Philippines in an international pageant arena – hopefully to win the first blue crown for us!
The top 5 finalists were asked: Why do you want to be Miss World Philippines?
“Miss world Philippines is selfless and to be selfless, you need to have a heart. if I win MWP i would give myself wholeheartedly to be of service. beauty with a heart.” – Megan
