Okay, people, so let’s be honest here: we all love watching the show, and we’re all rooting for our favorites to win, but for a moment, let us set aside our “fantasy” and dissect the remaining five models who are still in the running towards becoming America’s Next Top Model. Let us analyze: who really is the best model amongst the bunch? Who deserved the $100,000 contract from Covergirl? That contract from one of the top modeling agencies in the world, IMG? And above all, who really deserved that fashion spread in Vogue Italia and its beauty supplement edition, Beauty in Vogue?
Let us start with the “model” that we perceived to be the weakest: Kasia. She’s a plus-size model, and she is 26. With that being said, she’s a bit old for the industry, which’s almost always favored the young ones. It is interesting to note, though, that she was already featured in the fashion magazine V and had worked quite successfully before the show.
It was also rumored prior to the cycle’s premiere that Kasia was planted by the producers or Tyra herself to perhaps win or reach the final 2-3, regardless of her performance on the show and her being friends with Banks herself. Her pictures aren’t that spectacular, as judges and fans alike noted, and the only time that she got the first callout was the coffee commercial shoot. Rachel Zoe even called her “inexpensive,” with Tyra reiterating it as looking “cheap.”
We are not discriminating against Kasia for being plus-size or fiercely real, as Tyra put it, but let’s ask ourselves: Is she the best plus-size to ever be on the show? We have Whitney, the first plus-size winner from Cycle 10, Alexandra from Cycle 14, who reached the Final 4, and Tocarra from Cycle 3, who recently got featured in the Special “Black” Edition of Vogue Italia in 2008. With this, we are almost sure that she is probably not going to win. The industry now, even with more leniency toward plus-size models, still prefers to have Gisele, Karolina, and Naomi as top models, unfortunately.
Our fourth placer is the girl from freaking “Houston, Texas,” Hannah. She’s definitely the prettiest left, but her being pretty isn’t pulling enough high fashion to actually win this thing. We also do not think that her resemblance to Analeigh from Cycle 11 will hinder her “chances. Her walk doesn’t cut it on the runway, and she’s also a hit and miss during photo shoots. This commercial beauty will not be wasted, though; her beautiful physique and face could actually land any beauty campaigns, but other than that, we just don’t see her walking for any major fashion weeks after the show.
Our third placer is the one we initially thought would win this thing hands down: Molly.
Molly’s a very photogenic model. She’s a chameleon and can take directions well. With those attributes, you’d think that she’s actually the best in the competition, but America’s Next Top Model is not only your ordinary modeling competition; this is first and foremost a reality TV show. Let’s face it, based on the editing, she’s getting along with everyone of the girls except for Alexandria. During their go-see challenge, she only booked two out of four clients, mainly because she failed to deliver a personable character and lost a Lana Marks campaign because of her negative demeanor. That’s the problem with Molly; she’s a complaining champion, borrowing this term from last cycle’s runner-up, Chelsey.
Her bitching and rough confessions are not personable on TV, and although a lot of people are still rooting for her, she’s losing fans as the show progresses. Unless she gets a redemption arc, it is highly unlikely for her to actually win those highly coveted prizes. Goodluck Molly!
Our runner-up analysis goes to the strong, alpha, and the lioness Alexandria. This girl has a very interesting personality to begin with. At the start of the show, she was the edited “bitch” of this cycle. Everyone hated her for being bossy, intimidating, and all that, and even guests are noticing her not very attractive attitude on set. However, as the cycle progressed, her editing drastically changed, and she suddenly became the girl to beat in the competition and the girl who was also the most professional—industry-wise.
While Alex has so much personality and is such a “fun bitch,” we honestly don’t think that she’d win that Beauty in Vogue cover. She has shown consistency with her photographs, and her knowledge of the industry is very commendable, but her editing really reminds us of Melrose from Cycle 7, who ends up as the runner-up. History may just repeat itself.
The girl we think will be America’s Next Top Model is Brittani. She is the model of today. She’s very current, very high-fashion, and walks like a supermodel. We didn’t like that she had to pull a Celia moment during episode 7, but we cannot take away the fact that this girl has everything to win this cycle! We are not particularly fond of her for bitchfest along with Molly over Alexandria, but her portfolio is so strong that one can almost blame the edit, or even the pressure of the competition, or maybe not? The girl could still make it up with the judges, as we are seeing Franca liking her in episode 10.
So whom do you think and whom would you like to win America’s Next Top Model?

Molly!! *_*
Kasia still in antm is a mistery to me XD
this is so over the top! yehey! noted fashion photographer Mr. Nigel Barker who happens to be Americas Next Top Model judge visited Philippines and had a stunning photo shoot with carla ablellana(still idc!). what’s suprising is that he told the press that Alexandria Everett won the current cycle…and it’s like more or less 5 episodes to go before the season finale!!! PAK!
@silbeo NO WAY!!!! I hope it’s not true…=(
Go Brittani!!!!!
I think it’s nice that Kasia is able to keep up a good modeling career despite her age and size – impressive even!
I hope Brittani will win, even though she showed some bitchyness, I still like her being true to her self and still wants to improve herself. she doesn’t think so high to herself so she has the capacity to be better. Unlike alexandria, I hate her, she thinks she’s better than everyone, while infact she’s the bitch and no one would want to work with her. Molly is good at pictures, but she’s always angry. Hannah is very sweet, but it’s not very high fashion.
I really like Molly, but I’d like to see her improve her attitude a bit.
