With no plans over the weekend, Rob Barker found himself babysitting for his five-year-old niece he barely knew. Instead of following the list given by his Nemesis (sister-in-law) on how to go about his day with his niece, he decided to take her to With A Kick. There, a children’s party is being held and they got lucky when its owner decided to let them in despite it being closed for said event. Rob’s weekend suddenly became interesting when the party’s Father Christmas handing over presents happens to be his sexy redheaded teammate that he had been lasting for ages now. When Mick reciprocated Rob’s interest, things started to heat up and turn serious but first – they both need to come out from their very deep-end closets.
I totally adore Rob aka Barking and Mick aka Headcase. They are two big, brawny rugby guys who got the hots for each other. I loved the simple premise being all so sweet and funny at the same time. I also loved the easy acceptance from both sides of their families. For a short read, it is very difficult to create characters with very dynamic backstories. Sue Brown yet again delivered with this one. It’s obviously a holiday read but also intended for a year-round reading. This series is really, really good and highly recommended.
